South Africans have already been laughing around the country as Lefra Productions's hit farce, MY VROU SE MAN SE LYK SE TAS has made its way around on its nationwide tour. Now it's time for the show to hit Johannesburg for a two week run at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperor's Palace from 15 - 27 October 2013.

MY VROU SE MAN SE LYK SE TAS is a masterful Afrikaans translation (by Peet van Rensburg) of Ray Clooney's successful West End comedy, FUNNY MONEY. Directed by Frans Swart, MY VROU SE MAN SE LYK SE TAS premiered earlier this year at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn, where it played to full houses throughout its run.

The play tells the tale of Henry Perkins, a typical suburban accountant, who on his train ride home accidentally switches his case with that of another man, only to find out that the bag contains a small fortune. What follows is a frenetic series of events, filled with loads of laughs as the situation plays itself out.

Leading the company as Henry Perkins is Chris van Niekerk, who is well known for his television roles in SEWENDE LAAN and BINNELANDERS. A Drama graduate of the University of Pretoria, his first love is still the stage and he has also appeared in plays like DIE VLEIROOS, DIE JOGGER, MAGSPEL and TWAALFDE NAG. Another well-known television star returning to the stage in the show is Amalia Uys, who until recently played Sanmari in SEWENDE LAAN. The rest of the cast includes: Lulu Botha (SPYT, DIE PROPONENTJIE, DIE VAGINA MONOLOË), Paul Lückhoff (KRINGE IN 'N BOS, FIELA SE KIND, TRIOMF), Duncan Johnson (EGOLI, INTERSEXIONS, MY VROU SE MAN SE VROU), Chris van Rensburg (THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: THE MUSICAL, HOUTKRUIS), Botha Enslin (LIEWE HEKSIE, HOUTKRUIS, GENERATIONS) and Phillru Achterbergh (LIEWE HEKSIE, HORINGS).

Swart says it is always important to Lefra Productions to tour with their shows. "Our mandate to take theatre to the people is very clear. Very few production companies can tour productions like this nowadays because of the great expenses involved." Black is especially excited about the cast he has assembled for the production. "We have brought together some of the best actors in South Africa to perform this farce, each of whom has incredible comic timing. I was especially excited to tackle this new farce, which has never been done in South Africa, and that is why we are all very excited to produce MY VROU SE MAN SE LYK SE TAS and offer South Africans a good laugh."
