Cape Town City Ballet returns to Artscape from 26 - 28 September with Pas de Deux, a programme that showcases the romance, magic and beauty of ballerina and danseur on stage in perfect unison. With extracts from Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Le Corsaire and The Merry Widow, the performance will celebrate dance partnerships from many favourite ballets.

The pas de deux between the main characters in a ballet is often the highlight of a dance work - the ultimate expression of love in a dance for two, that is technically challenging and presents the dancers at their most brilliant and romantic. The challenge for the dancers is to make what is frequently the most difficult choreography look easy, graceful and seamless.

Cape Town City Ballet's dancers will be back to wow their fans in Pas de Deux. Angela Hansford will feature in several extracts, including theGypsy pas de deux from Don Quixote, Robin van Wyk's Ensemble for 6 and Veronica Paeper's Emperor Waltz. Kim Viera is set to impress with her dramatic acting skills as Anna Karenina, partnered by Daniel Szybkowski, while Tracy Li will perform the role of Phrygia opposite Xola Putye's Spartacus. Laura Bosenberg, Thomas Thorne, Rosamund Ford, Mariette Opperman. and Jesse Milligan will also display their expertise in some of the charming extracts on the programme.

Pas de Deux will be presented by Cape Town City Ballet in the Artscape Theatre from 26 - 28 September 2013. Tickets from R 130 - R 150 can be booked at Computicket or Artscape Dial-a-Seat on 021 421 7695. All performances danced to recordings.
