Abrahamse & Meyer Productions will present OVER THERE, a play written by Mark Ravenhill at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this November. Directed and designed by Fred Abrahamse (OTHELLO, THE MILK TRAIN DOESN'T STOP HERE ANYMORE), the 80-minute production will be performed by Francis Chouler (COCK, BORN IN THE RSA) and Marcel Meyer (DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS, ONE ARM).

When Franz's mother escaped to the West Berlin with one of her identical twin boys, she left the other behind. In OVER THERE, 25 years later, Karl crosses the border in search of his other half. As history takes an unexpected turn, the brothers must struggle to reconnect. Mark Ravenhill's 2009 play examines the hungers released when two countries, separated by a common language, meet again.

Tickets for OVER THERE, which runs from 7-19 November, cost R140-R150 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
