The Washington Pavilion has an active schedule of events for families to enjoy during holiday break. The Kirby Science Discovery Center (KSDC) and the Visual Arts Center (VAC) offer a variety of activities from movies to science to art.

Enjoy learning more about our December theme of "Winter Weatherland" in the KSDC and VAC through daily programs like Pavilion Storytime, Avera Stage Science Workshops, Art Scavenger Hunts and Creation Art Studio. Learn the art of cartooning in our Raven Children's Studio from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day.

Mascot Radley Rex will be making appearances throughout holiday break and his schedule is available at www.washingtonpavilion.org/radleyrex

Back by popular demand, the Big Piano exhibit is available on the fourth floor of the KSDC while the temporary science exhibition, Ocean Bound!, fascinates children and adults alike until January 6 on the third floor. In the VAC, see the graphic novel exhibition, Bam! It's a Picture Book: The Art Behind Graphic Novels before it also departs on January 6.

The holiday movie, "The Polar Express" will be showing in the Wells Fargo CineDome throughout holiday break. Patrons can enjoy a special treat with the movie: cocoa and cookies are available to purchase at the concessions counter.

On Monday, December 31 from 2:30-3:30 p.m., the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts Music faculty, alumni and students will be presenting classical string chamber music in the Visual Arts Center.
