The Sioux City Community Theater will continue its 2009-2010 season with upcoming productions of ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, THE ODD COUPLE FEMALE VERSION, and ANNIE.

ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT, written by Jeff Daniels, will play February 18-20 at 7:30 pm, February 21 at 2:00 pm, February 25-27 at 7:30 pm, and February 28 at 2:00 pm.
When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family's Upper Peninsula camp, 25-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck. The play spins a tale as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.

SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, a musical revue, is "about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back." You'll be transported from the deck of a 1942 Spanish ship to a ledge of 57 stories above Fifth Avenue. You'll meet an array of character ranging from a young man who believes that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams.

SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD will perform April 9 and 10 at 7:30 pm, April 11 at 2:00 pm, April 15-17 at 7:30 pm, and April 18 at 2:00 pm.

On May 14 and 15 at 7:30 pm, May 16 at 2:00 pm, May 20-22 at 7:30 pm, and May 23 2:00 pm, THE ODD COUPLE FEMALE VERSION will perform at the Sioux City Community Theater. Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon's contemporary comic classic: The Female Version of the Odd Couple.

Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the hilarious Constanzuela Brothers. Opposites still attract, and repel, in this timeless tale of friendship between a sloppy bachelorette and a newly single neat freak.

The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals- ANNIE. The production will perform July 9 and 10 at 7:30 pm, July 11 at 2:00 pm, July 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm, July 18 at 2:00 pm, July 23 and 24 at 7:30 pm, July 25 at 2:00 pm, July 29-31 at 7:30 pm, and August 1 at 2:00 pm.

ANNIE is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends FDR and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
