Video: The Cast of Singapore SISTER ACT Chats with BroadwayWorld!

Interview by Landy Eng

May 22, 2017, Singapore - SISTER ACT's Curtis Jackson (Brandon Godfrey), Will T. Travis (Eddie), and South Korea's Sophie Kim (Sister Mary Roberts) sat down with Singapore's Landy Eng for an exclusive video interview last week to talk about landing once-in-a-lifetime roles on the smash musical, learning West African Dances during college, and how SISTER ACT's on-going giddy romance with Asian audiences helps fire up their performances at the MasterCard Theatres.

The international touring production of the five-time Tony-nominated hit musical - with a US and internationally-based cast- runs at the MasterCard Theatres at the Marina Bay Sands until May 28, 2017.

SISTER ACT the musical - much like the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg breakout blockbuster hit - takes its audiences through an Eliza Doolittle-hued "sow's-ear-into-a-silk-purse" transformation of lively lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier from the wild-maned, foul-mouthed frontwoman of Las Vegas lounge girl group "The Ronelles" into the unlikeliest "Big-hearted Big Sister from the Ghetto," Sister Mary Clarence.

Based on the mega-hit film from the 1990s, SISTER ACT features original music by 8-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LITTLE MERMAID, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS) with a vast inspiration of musical styles from Motown, soul and funk to great big disco anthems.
