June 9, 2016, THE MASTERCARD THEATERS, Marina Bay Sands - The world's most misunderstood Ogre, who has proven worldwide that heroes and Prince Charmings do not necessarily have to be handsome or even remotely human at all, by the monstrous ticket sales of its original screen version by Dreamworks, has just officially made its way to the MasterCard Theatres in Marina Bay Sands with SHREK THE MUSICAL's GALA NIGHT performance last night, June 9.
SHREK THE MUSICAL starts its strictly limited Singapore season June 8 until June 19, and will have evening performances Tuesdays to Fridays at 7:30 PM.
Weekends will be chockfull of added "SHREKTACULAR" fun and misadventures with matinee and evening performances Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 PM. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 PM.
SHREK THE MUSICAL is choreographed by Chris Bailey and directed by Stephen Sposito who served as Associate Director of the Broadway revival How to Succeed in Business starring Daniel Radcliff. Costumes are the Tony Award® winner designs by Tim Hatley (Private Lives, Spamalot).
SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Academy Award-winning animation feature film by DreamWorks and featured the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas, follows the story of a not-so-dashing ogre as he rescues feisty princess, Fiona from a fire-breathing dragon at the bidding of Lord Farquaad. What follows is an expertly re-hashed tale of love, friendship, and endless fun featuring book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole and Good Peopl) with Olivier-award winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie) collaborating with Lindsay-Abaire to bringing in the music to Shrek and Fiona's romance.
This production of SHREK THE MUSICAL is produced by Broadway Entertainment Group FZ LLC and NETworks Presentations, LLC and presented by BASE Entertainment Asia.
