Be More Chill, the original musical with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis (NBC's 'Smash', The Black Suits, Broadway Bounty Hunter) and a book by Joe Tracz(The Lightning Thief, Netflix's 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events') will have its New York premiere production this summer. The Smith family hatch a plan to murder their estranged matriarch for her insurance money. They hire Joe Cooper, a police detective and part-time contract killer, to do the job. But once he enters their trailer home and comes face to face with their innocent daughter, the plan spirals out of control... A tense, gut-twisting thriller, Killer Joe, asks where the moral line is drawn in the fight for survival.

San Jose Stage Company continues their Season 35 honoring an American Theatre icon who shaped the very core of their organization with their presentation of Sam Shepard's Fool for Love. This cowboy romance dissects the poignant causes and effects of love lost through the retrospective eyes of two past lovers.

Magic Theatre (Loretta Greco, Artistic Director and Jaimie Mayer, Managing Director) announced today the complete cast of Barbara Hammond's World Premiere The Eva Trilogy. Previews begin on Thursday, October 19 at Magic Theatre's Fort Mason location, with a press opening on Saturday, October 28. The production is helmed by Magic's Artistic Director Loretta Greco. Tickets are on-sale now, and subscriptions to Magic Theatre's 2017-2018 Season are also available.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of celebrated playwright, actor and novelist Sam Shepard, who, as BroadwayWorld sadly reported earlier this week, passed away on Thursday, July 27th at age 73. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York were dimmed in his memory yesterday, at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

Rubicon Theatre Company presents GULF VIEW DRIVE , the third and final play in Arlene Hutton's Nibroc Trilogy, directed by Indy award-winning Katharine Farmer with the same cast reprising their critically-acclaimed roles from the Los Angeles Times "Critic's Choice" productions of Last Train to Nibroc and last season's See Rock City. Lily Nicksay ("Boy Meets World"/The Wild Duck at A Noise Within) and Erik Odom ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"/Sons of the Prophet at The Blank) return as May and Raleigh, along with See Rock City featured cast members Clarinda Ross (Spit Like a Big Girl/Steel Magnolias) and Sharon Sharth (Waiting for Grace/ member of Actors Studio and Circle Rep in New York). Joining the cast is returning Rubicon artist Faline England (Crimes of the Heart (Indy Award)/Turn of the Screw (Ovation Nomination). The ongoing love story of May and Raleigh concludes with the Kentucky couple now living comfortably in Florida in the 1950s. But their settled life is once again rocked by the arrival of family and turbulent events that threaten their sunny existence. Their love and devotion are put to the test when they must make unconventional decisions in a rapidly changing world. GULF VIEW DRIVE opens in Ventura on Saturday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a post-show party with cast, crew and local VIPs. Low-priced previews are January 25-27. The show runs Wednesdays through Sundays through February 12, 2017.

Betrayal will be the third production of Capital Stage's 2016-17 Season: Love + War, and will run from January 25 - February 26, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 8pm.

Chosen from last year's PANNDORA'S BOX festival of new works, SWEET TEXAS RECKONING is the story of Ellie Wolcott, a Southern Baptist woman fearing a tepid and lonely old age, who attempts to reunite her daughter, Kate, with long time paramour Alan John in order to salvage her remaining years with some semblance of dignity. When Kate shows up with an unexpected guest, Ellie is forced to confront many demons, including her ideas about race, biology, bigotry, and sexuality.

The Landing Theatre Company, Houston's professional company dedicated to advancing American Playwriting, has a new home: The Landing Theatre @ the Docks!  LTC has taken over the theatre venue formally operated by Diverse Works and then the Catastrophic Theater at 1119 East Freeway.  The Landing Theatre Company boldly kicks off their 2015-16 season in its new home with Sam Shepherd's modern classic: Fool for Love.

Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming Broadway premiere of Fool for Love by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard, directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin, will star Nina Arianda, Sam Rockwell, Tom Pelphrey and Gordon Joseph Weiss. The limited engagement of Fool for Love begins previews Tuesday, September 15 and opens Thursday, October 8 at MTC's Samuel J.
