Stars and casts from the current Broadway line-up have been busy in the studio, recording for the 2013 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 15. Singing traditional and original holiday songs, this annual holiday music CD benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. Just last night, Stephen Oremus (Kinky Boots' Musical Supervisor, Arranger and Orchestrator) moderated a conversation between Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics) and Billy Porter about the Kinky Boots Original Broadway Cast Recording, and creating the music behind the smash hit musical. This morning, the Supreme Court declared that legislation which says marriage must be between a man and a woman is unconstitutional, thus allowing homosexual couples to receive the same benefits as heterosexual couples. The Court also struck down California's Proposition 8. The decision comes after the Court held hearings about the legality of the state's gay marriage ban in March. The decision will now allow gay marriage to resume in California, however it does not legalize it in other states. The cast of Kinky Boots took the show's message to heart and celebrated today's news backstage. Check out their creation below!
