The Public Theater's production of the new musical LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, the second show of The Public's 2013 free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte, recently began previews on July 23. Directed by Alex Timbers, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST features songs by Michael Friedman with book adaptation by Timbers and will run through Sunday, August 18, and opened last night, August 12. Yanna Avis makes her Cafe Carlyle debut with a new show, titled In Love with Love which will feature her usual sophisticated European cabaret. The program will be multi-lingual from a variety of influences including Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, Friedrich Hollander and other classics. In Love with Love plays throughMay 16, Thursdays and Fridays at 10:45 p.m. with dusical director David Shenton at the piano, Tony Macelli on bass Rich Mercurio on drums, and Will Holshouser on accordion. 'When You're In Love, The Whole World Is Jewish' is more than an expression - it is the name of a World Premiere comedy/musical revue, directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, now playing to sold out houses at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles. The premise of the show is that a nice Jewish boy has fallen in love with a Catholic girl and wants his Rabbi to teach her to be a Jew. The rabbi sums the problem up with 'This is why Oy rhymes with Goy!' And the one-liners continue from there.

Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's Off Broadway hit Love, Loss, and What I Wore, is now in its second smash year at the Westside Theatre and also features Conchata Ferrell ('Two and a Half Men'), AnnaLynne McCord ('90210'), Anne Meara ('Sex and the City') and B. Smith (lifestyle expert and restaurateur).
Stage and film star Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite; Hairspray), Off Broadway vet Ashley Austin Morris (Die Mommie Die) officially joined the July cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore and they made their debut on June 30th. They join stars Penny Fuller (who was part of the last cast and will continue her role as ‘Gingy'), Sharon Lawrence ('NYPD Blue') and Myra Lucretia Taylor (Broadway's Nine). The five women began their run on Wednesday, June 30 and continue through Sunday, July 25.

The posthumous release of Remember How I Love You: Love Letters from an Extraordinary Marriage, Jerry and Elaine Orbach's autobiographical memoir recounting their thirty year marriage, was celebrated at a once-in-a-lifetime reunion of the couple's colleagues and friends at The Snapple Theater Center on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 5:30 PM. Each morning before leaving their Hell's Kitchen apartment to report to the set of Law & Order, Jerry wrote Elaine a short poem for her to find upon waking. The poems were humorous, sweet and topical, focusing on the couple's morning rituals, their daily routine - whatever was on Jerry's mind. Combined, they tell the story of a marriage full of life and love.
Producer Daryl Roth welcomed Mary Birdsong, Lisa Joyce, Jane Lynch and Mary Louise Wilson to the rotating company of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, an intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, and directed by Karen Carpenter, on Wednesday, October 21st. The actresses join current company member Tyne Daly.
The new Broadway-bound musical comedy Lone Star Love, starring Academy-Award nominee Randy Quaid in his Broadway debut as Colonel John Falstaff, has its official Seattle opening Wednesday, September 19 at The 5th Avenue Theatre. The show continues its run in Seattle through September 30, and will open for previews at New York's Belasco Theatre on November 1; opening night on Broadway is December 3.
