Forbidden Broadway on Stage Videos - West End

The World Premiere Musical WATERFALL is set in Bangkok and Tokyo between the turbulent years of 1933 and 1939, as a monarchy falls in Thailand and Japan is on the brink of war.  A young Thai student named Noppon (Thai superstar Bie Sukrit) falls in love with Katherine (Emily Padgett, 2014 Broadway Revival of Side Show), the American wife of a Thai diplomat, and the story of their forbidden love parallels history as the new democracy of Siam moves into the vortex of Japan prior to WWII. With a gloriously romantic score from Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby Jr. (Miss Saigon) and Academy Award-winner David Shire,WATERFALL is a modern love story of timeless scale.

DRG Records just kicked off the release of Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway: Comes Out Swinging! (2014 Un-Original Cast Album), produced by Grammy Award winner Hugh Fordin, yesterday at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86 Street). The cast along with writer/creator and director Gerard Alessandrini and longtime Forbidden Broadway illustrator and CD cover artist Ken Fallin, were on hand to sign the CD and for performances. The world premiere production of the brand new musical comedy Bullets Over Broadway, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, will begin preview performances tomorrow, March 11 and officially open Thursday, April 10, 2014 at The St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). The new musical will be directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, a new comedy written by Matt Murphy, based on the best-selling book by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman, is having its world premiere Off-Broadway at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets). Directed by Tim Drucker (writer/director of Spidermusical, co-book writer for the musical Fat Camp) Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man stars Jason Michael Snow (last seen on Broadway in Book of Mormon, and the composer, co-writer and co-producer of the current internet sensation Russian Broadway Shut Down) as Dan, Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Forbidden Broadway, "Submissions Only") as Robyn, and Andrew Brewer (Cougar The Musical) as Stefan. Performances began on January 22, 2014. The press opening is set for February 9, 2014. The National Theatre of Great Britain will present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, directed by Tony Award-winner Marianne Elliott, on Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre, 243 West 47th Street, in the Fall of 2014. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time transferred to London's West End, following a sold-out run at the National's Cottesloe Theatre in 2012. The production received seven Olivier Awards this year, including Best New Play.
