The Water Dream was the finale of Shakespeare & Co.'s Studio Festival of Plays on Monday September 5th, 2011. THE WATER DREAM starred Anthony Rapp (RENT), Karmine Alers (RENT), and Erik Lochtefeld (METAMORPHOSES, CANDIDE. The production was directed by Bill Barclay with music direction by Emily Otto. NewFest will screen Dori Berinstein's 'Carol Channing: Larger than Life,' a hilarious and excessively sweet documentary about the stage legend. Also on Sunday, Broadway stars Cheyenne Jackson ('Glee,' '30 Rock') and Jason Butler Harner star in Steven Williford's drama 'The Green.' The Broadway block ends with the world premiere of Elisabeth Sperling & Trish Dalton's 'One Night Stand,' which follows various participants in last year's 24 hour musical competition. The film features Cheyenne Jackson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson ('Modern Family'), chanteuse Nellie McKay, Richard Kind ('Spin City,' 'A Serious Man'), Rachel Dratch ('SNL'), Mandy Gonzalez ('Wicked,' 'In the Heights'), and Tracie Thoms ('Rent'). The Pasadena Playhouse just opened the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls). The five-week limited engagement performs June 14 - July 17, 2011 with the official press opening on June 26, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

Tony Award winning performer Idina Menzel, best known for her roles in Wicked, Rent and Glee, has just added a new date to her tour and will be performing in concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 6, Baz Bamigboye has just reported in the UK Daily Mail. Ticket sales officially launch Saturday, June 18. This engagement preceeds a new US tour the songstress is launching in Philadelphia in November, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Menzel will be touring the country in concert with local symphonies.
