Circle X Theatre Co. to Stage World Premiere of DEATH PLAY by Lisa Dring

Circle X Theatre Co. is thrilled to announce the world premiere of a new play, DEATH PLAY, written by Lisa Dring and directed by Jessica Hanna. DEATH PLAY will preview on Thursday, March 17 & Friday, March 18 and will open on Saturday, March 19 at 8pm and run through Saturday, April 23 at Atwater Village Theatre, 3269 Casitas Ave. in Los Angeles, 90039.

On October 23 & 24, Persona, a new opera from composer Keeril Makan and adaptor / librettist / director Jay Scheib, will make its world premiere at National Sawdust. Commissioned by Beth Morrison Projects and National Sawdust, and adapted by Scheib from Ingmar Bergman's film of the same name, Persona is a provocative, highly cerebral, and artistically complex depiction of human frailty, cruelty and identity. These world premiere performances—which represent the first opera staged at National Sawdust—feature music direction by Evan Ziporyn and music by the ensemble Either/Or.

Arden Theatre Company hosts its Master Storyteller Award ceremony and concert tonight, June 1, 2015. The award will be bestowed upon Composer and Lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who will accept the award at a ticketed ceremony and concert, which is a fundraising benefit for the Arden's extensive educational and outreach programs. Composer and Lyricist Jason Robert Brown will present Mr. Sondheim with the award.
