Born in New York City, Schlossberg attended Yale University and later earned his law degree from Columbia Law School. However, his passion for theater led him to pursue a career in producing. Schlossberg's first Broadway production was the 1981 revival of "The Royal Family," which starred Rosemary Harris and Eva Le Gallienne.
