Carol Burnett began her television career with a minor role on The Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney Show (1955). She starred opposite Buddy Hackett in the sitcom Stanley (1956–1957) and appeared on The Tonight Show and The Ed Sullivan Show (1957). She was a regular on the game show Pantomime Quiz (late 1950s).
