Home Cycle (Drama Desk ... read more Ryan Rumery is a composer for film, television, and podcasts. He recently won the Tony Award for Best Sound Design of a Play for his work on Stereophonic. Ryan’s music is regularly heard on “This American Life” and in the film Food and Country, premiering at Sundance 2023. He is a 2017 alumnus of the Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Lab: Documentary, and is also a music producer, music editor, and recording engineer. He plays drums and keyboards. Mr. Schmidt has designed nearly 60 Broadway shows and dozens of regional productions for the Guthrie, The Old Globe, The Alley Theatre, and Seattle Rep, among others. He has three Drama Desk Awards (Into the Woods, Veronica's Room, Over Here!), three Tony nominations (The Front Page, Into the Woods, 42nd Street), an Obie, and many other awards. MTC directorial credits include The Little Foxes, The Country House, The Snow Geese, The Columnist, Lost Lake, Accent on Youth, Good People, Time Stands Still, Rabbit Hole, After the Night and the Music, Brooklyn Boy, Sight Unseen, Psycopathia Sexualis, and Proof.
