Mother Courage and Her Children

Shakespeare's Globe released a trailer for MOTHER COURAGE, Anna Jordan's translation of Brecht's protest classic, featuring Michelle Terry in the title role of a war-ravaged world where armies fight not for countries, but for resources.

Michelle Terry, who is currently starring in Mother Courage and Her Children at Shakespeare's Globe, had to address an audience member who was texting during a performance. 

Putting a radical translation of the classic play into so iconic a venue doesn't quite work for all its chutzpah in conception and execution

SHakespeare's Globe will present Bertolt Brecht's MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN from 7 May to 27 June 2026, featuring a cast led by Michelle Terry as Mother Courage and directed by Elle While.
