Michelle Terry Addresses Texting Audience Member During MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN
Playwright Anna Jordan described the incident, stating "It was such a brilliant moment."
The Stage has reported that Michelle Terry, who is currently starring in Mother Courage and Her Children at Shakespeare's Globe, had to address an audience member who was texting during a performance.
This comes as BroadwayWorld recently reported on Rosamund Pike calling out an audience member on stage for texting during a performance of Inter Alia.
Playwright Anna Jordan told BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, "We had a brilliant night a few nights ago where Mother Courage talks about this idea of needing courage to bring children into the world, to get up in the morning, needing courage just to look each other in the eye – and at this point she looked at someone in the Yard who was texting."
She went on to reveal that Trry said, "‘Oi, oi,’ and she continued to say ‘oi’ until the [audience member] looked up and she said: ‘It takes courage to look each other in the eye.’ It was such a brilliant moment."
