Burlesque The Musical - 2025 West End History , Info & More

Savoy Theatre
Savoy Ct, London WC2R 0ET, United Kingdom London

Discover a club like no other… a place beneath the city lights where sequins sparkle, seduction shimmers, and a life can change in the flick of a feather boa.

When Ali heads to New York City in search of her mother, she finds herself drawn into a dazzling underground world of music and dance that will change her life forever. A scintillating journey of self-discovery that absolutely sizzles with songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren, alongside additional songs by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.

FEATURED REVIEWS FOR Burlesque The Musical

Review: BURLESQUE THE MUSICAL, Savoy Theatre
5 / 10

There is some really good material in the show, but it doesn't feel sure what it is supposed to be. Goofy comedy is mixed with satire, provocative dancing, endless songs and somewhere is a romance and a reunion of a mother and child. There's even a trans storyline shoehorned in. To quote Lena Dunham, it's 'too much', especially the 30 (yes 30) songs.

Burlesque musical review: Christina Aquilera show is quality trash
7 / 10

At points, the Burlesque musical feels like a massive Magic Mike production where shimmering torsos are the main characters, but away from the sensation, there is depth... Don’t spend too much time worrying about [the plot]: this is the messy, chaotic world of burlesque and what matters is the vocals are in order.

Review: BURLESQUE THE MUSICAL, Savoy Theatre
by Aliya Al-Hassan - July 22, 2025

Burlesque the Musical has finally arrived in London. Loosely based on the 2010 film starring Cher and Christina Aguilera, Burlesque moves from LA to New York, as small-town girl Ali comes to the big city to search for her birth mother. On the way she starts working in a burlesque club as a waitress, only to become (spoiler alert) the main act. So far, so predictable.
