Running from January 13 to February 5, 2022, To  Save and Project: The 18th MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation includes more than 60 newly preserved features and shorts from 19 countries, many having world or  North American premieres and presented in original versions not seen since their initial  theatrical releases.

On Friday, March 27, 2020 at 7:00pm, They Will Take My Island, a multimedia portrait concert featuring the works of Armenian-American composer Mary Kouyoumdjian, will be performed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of the MetLiveArts series.

Since Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, Main Street Theater has held Hurricane Camps (both free & deeply discounted) and taken storybook characters to shelters and bookstores to engage with and cheer children. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Main Street Theater is finding ways to offer bits of relief to those in need. All 3 MST programs, the MainStage (plays for adults), the Theater for Youth (plays for families and school groups), and the Education & Outreach Department (classes and camps for kids), are reaching out to connect with the Houston community.

Main Street Theater opens its 42nd Season with Enemies by Maxim Gorky, adapted by David Hare.  Enemies tells the story of Russian society in 1905 when the country sat ready for revolution.  Directed by MST Artistic Director Rebecca Greene Udden, this collaboration with the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance features a cast of 24, 8 of whom are UH students.

Main Street Theater's (MST) 2017 - 2018 Season will offer plays that embody alternate takes on moments in history, in literature, and in the way people view the world.  With 5 regional premieres on the MainStage and 7 plays based on children's books at the Theater for Youth, MST's 42nd season opens in September 2017 and runs through June 2018.

In this taut 2013 theatrical adaptation of Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela's award winning-book, the apartheid regime's most notorious assassin and head of its death squad, Eugene de Kock (played by Matthew Marsh), sits opposite psychologist Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela (played Noma Dumezweni) in Pretoria Central Prison in 1997. Gobodo-Madikizela is a member of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission determined to understand his actions. She questions de Kock, who is sentenced to two life terms plus 212 years for crimes against humanity, murder, conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, assault, kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, and fraud.

Pat Barker's Booker-nominated novel, REGENERATION, has been adapted for the stage by Olivier Award-winning playwright Nicholas Wright (His Dark Materials, Vincent in Brixton), it opened at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 29 August 2014 prior to a national tour. The production plays Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from 4 - 8 November 2014.

Kennedy Center Honoree Barbara Cook takes to the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall stage with a performance showcasing her silvery soprano voice tonight, November 3 at 8pm. In her first performance ever at the Meyerhoff, Ms. Cook will celebrate her 85th birthday through inspiring performances from jazz, swing and pop songs. Broadway legend Barbara Cook will return to the New York Philharmonic for a one-night-only performance Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m., conducted by her acclaimed music director, Lee Musiker. Ms. Cook plans to bring to the Avery Fisher Hall stage songs she has never before performed with the New York Philharmonic, such as Stephen Sondheim's 'Send in the Clowns' from A Little Night Music, selections from Meredith Wilson?s The Music Man, and Sondheim?s ?No One Is Alone? from Into the Woods.
