John Waters to Host Vineyard Theatre's Annual Gala Honoring Margo Lion

The Vineyard Theatre today announced that their 2015 Gala will honor Tony Award-winning producer Margo Lion. The annual Gala Fundraiser will take place on Monday, March 30th, 2015, beginning at 6:30pm, at Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). John Waters (Hairspray, Cry Baby) will host the Gala show.

Starting with the imaginative small space staging by director Cate Caplin, musical direction by Jeff Bonhiver, and choreography by Samantha Whidby who also stage manages the production, each of the actors lovingly brings all our favorite Peanuts comic strip characters to life. Set to music in a series of vignettes, "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" chronicles an average day in the life of Charlie Brown (Holland Noel) and his friends Linus (Richie Ferris), Lucy (Dorothy Dillingham Blue), Schroeder (John Devereaux), along with his sister Sally (Kristin Towers-Rowles), and of course his loyal dog Snoopy (Matt Steele). This little show is packed with heart and humor, expressed in the pure and honest simple truths of children, performed by a fun-loving and super energetic cast.

Theatre and technology worlds will come together when TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, once again stages its annual TheatreWorks Honors gala June 21, this year paying tribute to Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winning Broadway composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) and Ray Rothrock, Partner Emeritus of pioneering venture capital firm Venrock, both of whom have dedicated their lives to bringing forth vision, innovation, and creativity to arts and business communities in Silicon Valley and around the nation. Master of Ceremonies Tim Molak, Headmaster of Woodside Priory, will preside over the evening while guests enjoy cocktails, an exquisite dinner with wine pairings, live and silent auctions, and a one-night-only musical presentation created expressly for the honorees.
