Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA, has sprung an early spring surprise announcement of his hotly anticipated summer season for the Cape Cod destination. Since taking the helm at the venue six years ago, The Art House has presented some of Broadway and Hollywood's most talented stars. The 2016 summer season will include artists like Kristin Chenoweth, Patti LuPone, Cheyenne Jackson, the Indigo Girls, Megan Hilty and Steve Grand. This summer, the venue's marquee Broadway concert series will again encompass performances at both The Art House as well as Provincetown's Town Hall.

A slate of 4 vibrant and kinetic new LGBTQ+ plays and 1 musical have emerged as finalists in Pride Films and Plays' 2016 Great Gay Play and Musical Contest. They come from writers across the United States, and were selected by a reading team from across the country doing blind readings of the manuscripts. Those five scripts will be performed as Enhanced Staged Readings at the Center On Halsted's Hoover-Leppen, 3540 N Halsted, during Gay Play and Musical Weekend which is April 22 to 24, 2016. Charles Schulz's beloved comic comes to life in Clark Gesner's classic musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The whole gang is here: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn't give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally is still mocking blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and 'blockhead,' himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form. Brief vignettes span the months from Valentine's Day to Beethoven Day, from wild optimism to utter despair. In this revised version, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, the sweet, joyful innocence of the Peanuts gang is maintained, but a fresh insouciance and playfulness is revealed. Though considered a 'good man' by his friends, Charlie Brown can't seem to win the heart of the Little Red-Haired Girl, nor his friend Lucy, her crush, the piano-playing Schroeder. Meanwhile Snoopy and Linus daydream and the rest of the friends battle with kites, school, baseball and misunderstandings before finally coming to realize what makes them truly happy.

Kinky Boots, Broadway's huge-hearted, high-heeled hit, today announces the release of the West End cast recording on Sony Masterworks. The album was recorded live with the current West End cast at the Adelphi Theatre and is available to buy from Friday 1 April 2016 and pre-order on Friday 11 March 2016.
