Movie fans get ready… it's that time of the year again, and The Granada Theatre's popular Summer Film Series is back! The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) is pleased to present their most exciting lineup of films yet, encompassing a wide range of genres that all guests are guaranteed to enjoy! This summer, The Granada Theatre will screen films in three series: "Summer Classic Movie Series," "Comedy Tonight: The Films of Mel Brooks," as well as a returning favorite, the "Reel Cool Summer Series!". Around the World in 80 Days will kick off the summer series on May 22, followed by cult classic, Blazing Saddles, on May 24, and Shrek on May 25. Legendary scenic and costume designer, MICHAEL YEARGAN (currently represented on Broadway with Fiddler on the Roof and The King and I), and costume designer SUSAN TSU are among the 2016 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).  Ms. Tsu was selected to receive the 2016 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Yeargan will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through Theatre Development Fund's Costume Collection.

Gideon Productions will present at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street between Bowery and Lafayette) - UNIVERSAL ROBOTS, a science fiction epic from acclaimed playwright Mac Rogers inspired by Karel Capek's seminal 1921 play R.U.R. The production, directed by Jordana Williams, will run June 3-26.

BERKELEY, CA (March 22, 2016) – Music Director Joana Carneiro and Berkeley Symphonyclose their 2015-16 season Thursday, May 5 at 8 pm at Zellerbach Hall with the West Coast premiere of Mark Grey's Frankenstein Symphony, which the Orchestra co-commissioned with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Violinist Simone Porter makes her first appearance in the Bay Area, performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the Orchestra.

The San Francisco Symphony returns to Carnegie Hall with Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas for two concerts on Wednesday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 14 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. For the first performance, Mr. Tilson Thomas - widely considered the world's premier interpreter of the works of Aaron Copland - conducts music by the American master, including his Orchestral Variations and Inscape. The dynamic pianist Inon Barnatan joins the orchestra for a performance of Copland's Piano Concerto. The program concludes with Schumann's Symphony No. 2 in C Major, Op. 61. This season, Mr. Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony are performing and recording the complete Schumann symphonies for future release on SFS Media.
