Just last week, Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group announced the casting and initial tour schedule for their spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera launching a major North American Tour in Providence, R.I. at the Providence Performing Arts Center. With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM, the most successful musical of all-time, will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this one of the largest productions on tour in North America. Megan Mullally, Patti LuPone, and Chita Rivera Play Provincetown Art House This August

Megan Mullally is a two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will & Grace, and recent star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein. On August 28 & 29 she returns to Provincetown by popular demand - for two shows only - after her sold-out Art House debut last summer. Patti LuPone won her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, as well Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, for her performance as Rose in the most recent Broadway production of Gypsy, and created the title role in Evita on Broadway with her now legendary performance, for which she won her first Tony and Drama Desk Awards. On August 31 and September 1 she makes a triumphant Provincetown return for 4 shows only, after debuting at The Art House last summer. Chita Rivera is a living Broadway legend and a two-time Tony winner as Aurora in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Anna in The Rink. She originated the Broadway roles of Anita in West Side Story, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, Velma in Chicago, and appeared in the original casts of Guys and Dolls, Can Can, Seventh Heaven, Mr. Wonderful, Jerry's Girls, and many others. The Buck Creek Players will continue their 2012-2013 season 'In the Spotlight' with the Tony Award winning musical, City of Angels, a deliciously funny spoof of 1940's film noir and hard-boiled detective fiction. The wickedly witty musical -- written by Larry Gelbart, creator of TV's M*A*S*H -- opened on Broadway in 1989. With four-part harmonies by Cy Coleman (Sweet Charity, Barnum, The Will Rogers Follies) and lyrics by David Zippel (The Goodbye GIrl, Disney's Hercules, Disney's Mulan), City of Angels went on to win numerous honors in 1990, including the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and The New York Drama Critics Circle awards for best musical. Opening tonight, June 7th, and running for three weekends through Sunday, June 23rd, curtain times will be at 8:00 p.m. todays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees offered on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse on the southeast-side of Indianapolis at 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Tickets are $17 for adults and $15 for students (through college), and senior citizens (ages 62 and older). Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone have announced that the new musical, ROCKY, will come to Broadway in 2014, beginning preview performances in February and officially opening in March at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre.
