The New Group has announced four productions for its 2017-2018 Season.

The Geffen Playhouse today announced five plays in its 2017/2018 season with a focus on staging works by emerging contemporary playwrights and celebrated veteran writers.

For the tenth year in a row, improvisers from across metro Detroit will come together for 24 hours of improv comedy at Snow Day X, a benefit fundraiser event from 8:00 pm Saturday, January 14 to 11:00 pm Sunday, January 15 at Go Comedy! Improv Theatre. Tickets ($10-$20) are available now online at www.gocomedy.net.

Hosted by Mario Cantone, the event will feature performances by Jerry Dixon and Nat and Alex Wolff, and an appearance by playwright Beth Henley, author of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian. Screen and stage star Elizabeth Reaser, best known for her performances in the blockbuster Twilight film franchise and her season-long arc on 'Grey's Anatomy,' will step into its upcoming production of The Money Shot for the departing Heather Graham, who exits the production due to a late-breaking opportunity to begin production on a passion project.

Helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney, Reasons to Be Pretty will be performed in the Gil Cates Theater through August 31 with an opening night of tonight, August 6.
