Due to overwhelming demand, La Jolla Playhouse is adding a seventh week of performances for Disney's Freaky Friday.  The show will extend its run through March 19.

Gene Allen, the Oscar-winning Production Designer behind My Fair Lady, A Star is Born and Les Girls, will be inducted into the Art Directors Guild (ADG) Hall of Fame at the 21st Annual Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards, announced today by ADG Council Chairperson Marcia Hinds and Awards Producer Thomas Wilkins.

This weekend, February 10 and 11 at 7:30 PM, conductor Randall Craig Fleischer leads guest vocalists Debbie Gravitte, KLea Blackhurst, Ron Raines, Jason Graae, Scott Coulter, and John Boswell in a performance of 'Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert'.

On Stage Touring, LLC, in association with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE), is proud to announce the award-winning theatrical Elvis Lives, "The Ultimate Elvis Artist Tribute Event," will be presented at the McCallum Theatre for three performances, Tuesday, February 21, through Thursday, February 23. The multi-media live musical is a co-production of On Stage Touring's Legends in Concertdivision and producing partner Elvis Presley's Graceland®. Elvis Lives is a journey across Elvis' life featuring winners and finalists from Elvis Presley Enterprise's (EPE) annual worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, each representing Elvis during different stages of his career. The tour marks the third time in the production's six-year history that all three Elvis tribute artists are top winners of the contest.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts will honor Mel Brooks with the Fellowship at the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday February 12th.

Producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd today announced the second slate of presenters for the 89th Oscars® telecast. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Oscars will air live on Sunday, February 26, on the ABC Television Network.

La Jolla Playhouse presents Freaky Friday, book by Bridget Carpenter (TV's 'Friday Night Lights,' 'Parenthood'), music and lyrics by the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal, If/Then), based on the novel 'Freaky Friday' by Mary Rodgers and the Walt Disney motion pictures, to be directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, running tonight, January 31 , through March 12, 2017 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a program celebrating John Adams's 70th birthday year, featuring John Adams's Harmonielehre and Absolute Jest - with the New York Philharmonic String Quartet as solo ensemble in its debut - on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, March 11 at 8:00 p.m.

Beginning February 18, the Orchestre National de Lyon, “probably the most refined ensemble of the world” (The Guardian),  tours the United States for the first time since 2003, playing concerts with music director Leonard Slatkin on a six-city tour.  The Orchestra performs in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and at the University of Georgia, Wake Forest University, and others. Special guest artists at Carnegie Hall include two of classical music's most treasured American voices, soprano Renée Fleming and baritone Thomas Hampson.  The New York program will feature debut performances of Guillaume Connesson's Celephaïs and a new Ravel arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Antar with text by Amin Maalouf.
