The Center for New Performance at CalArts (CNP) and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) School of Theater in association with the Getty Villa present a Duende CalArts production, Piedra de Sol (Sunstone).

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

Appearing together again after their Tony Award® winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. The Center for New Performance at CalArts (CNP) and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) School of Theater present Piedra de Sol (Sunstone).

The Center for the Asian Arts and Media at Columbia College in Chicago has announced that Baayork Lee will direct and choreograph their new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song next August. The production, which will begin as a concert in Washington D.C. in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in collaboration with the U.S.-Asia Institute in May of 2010, will run for one month in Chicago. The show will ultimately make a transfer to Shanghai in the late fall of 2010.

As previously reported, screen star and Drama Desk-winning actor Anthony Hopkins will star in Thor, the Kenneth Branagh helmed film for Marvel Studios. Production begins in January and Paramount Pictures will distribute the film on May 20, 2011.

Crystal Field and Theater for the New City (TNC) will present a varied schedule Scratch Night performance program, which offers the opportunity for artists to present work in progress to an audience for one night. Scratch Night started in the United Kingdom in 2000 as a way to show work in progress in an evolution of performances. At TNC, they put their own spin on the idea to best serve the theatre community and New York area audiences.
