Susan Hendrix is working hard to become self-reliant, having lost her sight fairly recently in a car wreck.  It's no easy task--but things are about to get a whole lot harder, as her apartment is invaded by some ruthless thieves, in Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of the Frederick Knott thriller Wait Until Dark, beginning its 5-week run at Stage West on Thursday, May 26. 

HAMILTON proves that ethnically and culturally diverse casts can produce smash hits. However, before the performing arts community can pat herself on the back for being so accepting, she should turn her head to the right. All too often, inclusive theater excludes theater artists with disabilities. Dionysus Theatre founding artistic director Deborah Nowinski has spent decades pushing back against the mixture of prejudice and apathy that makes this so. Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theatrical organization in the United States, announces Emmy Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris as the recipient of its 2014 Man of the Year Award. Harris joins Dame Helen Mirren, who was recently announced as their 2014 Woman of the Year.

Classic thriller 'Wait Until Dark,' which premiered on Broadway in 1966, will open Repertory Philippines' (Rep) 2014 theater season starting Friday, January 17 at Onstage Theatre, Greenbelt 1 in Makati City. 'Wait Until Dark' is one of the few plays penned by English playwright-screenwriter Frederick Knott, best known for his 1952 television play, 'Dial M for Murder.'
