Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, is honored to shine the spotlight on local, Hawaii-based artists this spring with upcoming shows featuring award-winning artists such as Kalapana, Robert Cazimero, Willie K, and The Rough Riders. I first met Noah Racey when I was directing the 2004 Nightlife Awards at Town Hall in New York. He was performing with his co-star from Never Gonna Dance, Nancy Lemenager. If you've never seen him dance, you haven't lived. I got to chat a bit about his stay down here in DC.

Teatro Paraguas continues its 12th season with Mike Batistick's 2006 play Port Authority Throw Down. Directed by Rick Vargas, the play is set in Fall 2003 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, and focuses on the lives of two college-educated Pakistani immigrant brothers selling newspapers and driving a taxi to make ends meet.

The Old Globe's GLOBE FOR ALL returns to bring free professional Shakespeare directly to diverse, multigenerational audiences in underserved communities around San Diego County. This second year of GLOBE FOR ALL follows a highly successful inaugural production in 2014. One of the Bard's most charming comedies, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, will be directed by renowned Shakespearean Rob Melrose, Artistic Director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, who makes his Globe debut. He directs a cast of local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program.
