Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak will helm Kiss Me, Kate-his first musical since winning the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. A co-production with The Old Globe in San Diego, Kiss Me, Kate will play for only four weeks, from May 14-June 14.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company (TSC), the Mid-South's professional classical theatre, today announced its 2014-15 schedule of plays, which includes three by Shakespeare, the Southern Exposure Series, a continuing partnership with Dixon Gallery & Gardens, a new summer partnership with the University of Memphis, and a new Musical Works Festival sponsored by the Broadway licensing company of Memphis, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Color Purple, and All Shook Up: The Music of Elvis Presley.

New York's theater season has had a distinctive Shakespearean flavor to it with the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe productions of Twelfth Night, or What You Will and Richard III (in repertory at the Belasco Theater), Lincoln Center Theater's Macbeth, the Bard's The Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare in the Park), King Lear (by Theatre for a New Audience in Brooklyn), and the Wooster Group's Cry, Trojans! (Troilus & Cressida). The Drama Desk's annual Spring Luncheon/Panel Discussion at Sardi's Eugenia Room, 234 West 44th St., on Friday, April 4, will try to answer the questions 'Why Shakespeare? Why Now?' with a distinguished lineup of guests, including British actor/director Michael Pennington (King Lear); Scott Shepherd (Cry, Trojans!, The Wooster Group's Troilus & Cressida); and director Daniel Sullivan (The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare in the Park). Carol Rocamora, a renowned playwright/critic and educator, will serve as moderator.

The Broadway at TPAC Special Event will run from July 24 to August 19 in TPAC's James K. Polk Theater. Featuring music by Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) and a book and lyrics by three-time Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), The Nutty Professor is based on the classic 1963 film in which Lewis starred and co-wrote.
