The iconic songbook of legendary American singer-songwriter and "Man in Black" Johnny Cash comes to life in the first production of Stages Repertory Theatre's 2018-2019 Season, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash. Cash's tale of struggle and success, love and faith, rowdiness and redemption, and home and family are played out in this unique musical chronicling the life of one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, will present the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin' beginning this Sunday, June 17th through July 1st. The show features the music of acclaimed American Jazz pianist, singer, and composer Thomas Wright "Fats" Waller and contains such classic songs as "Honeysuckle Rose," "The Joint is Jumpin'," "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now," "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," and "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," plus 25 other toe-tapping songs of the 1920s and 30s. Aint' Misbehavin' won the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 1988 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as a 1982 Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical or Variety Program. This is the first time this award-winning musical has ever been presented at Totem Pole Playhouse. Ain't Misbehavin' features a cast of five vocalists with a live jazz band on stage throughout the two-hour show.

The GRAMMY Museum® Grant Program announced today that $200,000 in grants will be awarded to 14 recipients in the United States and Canada to help facilitate a range of research on a variety of subjects, as well as support a number of archiving and preservation programs. Research projects include a study that will examine how rhythmic cues can improve movement for older adults and people with Parkinson's disease, and a study that will examine how neural integration through music enhances long-term memory, among others. Preservation and archiving initiatives will rescue and organize 400 hours of at-risk reel-to-reel tapes of Native Radio—Bay Area:1973–1978; preserve, digitize, and ensure public access to 316 rare interviews with performers, songwriters, and music executives from the Country Music Hall of Fame; and digitally restore rare kinescopes of the 1950s television series 'Stars Of Jazz' (KABC-TV, 1956-58); among others.

Following the success of their first joint production last December of Little Shop of Horrors, the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and MNM Theatre Company today announced that they are partnering again to co-present MNM's fourth show in 2018, GREASE, the most popular movie musical in history.

On Monday, May 14, 2018, Third Street Music School Settlement (Third Street), the nation's longest running community school, will honor Grammy Award-winning Singer and Songwriter Rosanne Cash, Tony and Oscar Award-winner Joel Grey, and long-time Board Member and Award-winning Architect Byron Bell at its Annual Spring Gala. Graham Parker, President of Universal Studios Classical Music Labels, will serve as master of ceremonies and Lydia Fenet, Senior Vice President of Christie's Auction House will host the live auction. Members of the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical also will perform. Held at Capitale (130 Bowery) in New York City, the gala will bring together hundreds of luminaries from the arts, culture, education, media, business, finance and philanthropy worlds to pay tribute to the honorees for their contributions to and leadership in arts and music education. Funds raised through attendance, live and silent auction participation will help support Third Street scholarships and financial aid services. With its roots in the settlement movement, Third Street today serves more than 5,000 New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds by providing high quality, accessible music and dance instruction in more than 25 instruments and voice. More than 75% of Third Street students receive financial aid or scholarships through the school's Partners program, which sends teaching artists into community centers and public schools throughout New York City. Dance Umbrella Announces 2018 Programme

Fort Lauderdale Mayor and LGBTQ Advocate Dean Trantalis will be the recipient of the first-ever Pride Center at Equality Park 'Alan Schubert Award of Excellence ' during the fourth annual Diversity Honors presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida at 7 p.m. on April 27 at the Hard Rock Event Center. The globally renowned gala benefitting Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park will also recognize Dolores Huerta, preeminent leader of the Latino, Labor and Women's Civil Rights Movement, with the Harvey Milk Foundation Honors Medal plus honor Craig Stevens, WSVN-TV anchor, David Richardson, Florida State Representative serving District 113 and current primary candidate for Congress in Florida's 27th District and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Gay-Straight Alliance for their local efforts in making a significant impact on improving the quality of life for the LGBTQ community.

As a way of introducing myself as the new DANCE REVIEWER for Broadway World L. A., I am reporting on an historic event in which I participated at St. Luke's Theatre on March 26th, 2018 in NYC: the 40th-year anniversary and reunion of the cast members of the opening of Tony Award-Winning Bob Fosse's DANCIN' on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre on March 27, 1978.

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, May 14, 2018. The evening will celebrate Academy Award-winning actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty, Tony Award-winning Broadway and film director Kenny Leon, currently director of Children of a Lesser God on Broadway, two-time Tony Award-winning actress, singer and dancer Chita Rivera, and Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award and Emmy-nominated actress Uma Thurman. Mr. Beatty, Mr. Leon, Ms. Rivera and Ms. Thurman will be awarded The Actors Fund's Medal of Honor. The event begins with 6 pm cocktails followed by a 7 pm dinner and tribute at the New York Marriott Marquis. The evening will include special tribute performances by guests to be announced.

Joe McGinty & The Losers Lounge, perform the music of one of the greatest rock & roll concert movies of all times – The Last Waltz! Directed by Martin Scorsese, and released in April of 1978, The Last Waltz features performances by Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Ringo Starr, Neil Young, The Staple Singers, Dr. John, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris, Paul Butterfield, Bobby Charles, Ronnie Hawkins, and of course The Band: Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announces Goodman Theatre's new 2018/2019 Season-a 14-play line-up of timely, original and inspired works curated by Falls in collaboration with his artistic associates. The new season, which begins in September and continues through July 2019, includes 10 full productions on the Goodman's stages (856-seat Albert Theatre and 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre) plus three free New Stagesdevelopmental productions, and one TBA production TBA staged as part of the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance's 2018 International Latino Theater Festival. Goodman Theatre memberships, including new flexible packages, are now available for purchase.

The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) presents one of America's most prestigious companies, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), for one performance only on Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m. at the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts. An audience favorite back by popular demand and celebrating 40 years as a driving force of American contemporary dance, the company returns with a special anniversary program of master works from four decades of the company's illustrious history.

Bauhaus' member Kevin Haskins will be releasing 'Bauhaus – Undead: The Visual History and Legacy of Bauhaus' on March 16via Cleopatra Records. While this is an elegant and tasteful deluxe coffee table art book, it is also a historical and intimate trip through the development of this groundbreaking band from the perspective and memorabilia of one of the quartet's founding members.

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 55 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 29 world premieres. The selected shorts include a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers and were curated from a record 4,754 submissions. For the second year running, 40% of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, which consist of five narrative, three documentary, one animation, and one hybrid program. The program will also include special screenings and the 12th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts Film program, sponsored by Nutella®, runs throughout the Festival, April 18-29.

Under the direction of Charles O. Anderson and Andrea Beckham, The University of Texas at Austin's award-winning dance company Dance Repertory Theatre returns to the stage in Transcendence, March 28-April 8 at the B. Iden Payne Theatre. A celebration of life and legacy, Transcendence features works by nationally renowned artists, including Rennie Harris, Yacov Sharir, Madison Hicks, Andee Scott and Andrea Beckham, as well as emerging choreographers Courtney Mazeika and Ginnifer Joe.

An "officially licensed" touring production with the blessing of both Dan Ackroyd and Judith Belushi (John's widow) The Blues Brothers is a highly-choreographed, very entertaining, commercial product that has no pretense of being artistic … and that is it's greatest asset. This is pure, escapist entertainment. This is a show where you check your brain at the door and just enjoy the music, the atmosphere and admire the discipline and professionalism of the artists onstage.

Legendary ballet costume designer HOLLY HYNES and costume and scenic designer ZACK BROWN are among the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients which were just announced by TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Ms. Hynes was selected to receive the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Brown will receive the Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through TDF's Costume Collection. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).
