Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.

The Fox Theatre today announces its 2017 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival schedule featuring family-friendly titles sure to entice both kids and those who are kids at heart. Guests will be singing a tune with sing-a-long versions of Walt Disney's animated gem "Beauty and the Beast," as well as the Julie Andrews' timeless classic "Mary Poppins." Additionally, wizards and muggles alike will be mesmerized as all eight "Harry Potter" films will be showing at the Fox Theatre with triple- and double-headers throughout August. The play portrays their lives before, during, and after the war; exploring the realities of war and the emotional, mental, and physical aftereffects of that experience. A Piece of My Heart has been produced over a thousand times since premiering at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1991 and has been the recipient of the Kittredge Foundation Award and the Barbara Deming Prize for Women Playwrights.

The World Premiere of The Nefarious, Immoral but Highly Profitable Enterprise of Mr. Burke & Mr. Hare (a.k.a. Burke & Hare) by composer Julian Grant and librettist Mark Campbell follows November 8-12, 2017. From March 16-25, 2018, BLO presents Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's pivotal early-20th century work The Threepenny Opera. BLO closes its Season in May with Leonard Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti, paired with his Arias and Barcarolles, to mark the Lawrence, Mass.-born composer's centennial.
