Spare Stage, the award-winning Bay Area theatre company, presents Oleanna, David Mamet's exploration of sexual politics in academia, for two weekends only, tonight, June 6-16 at EXIT's Studio Theatre, 156 Eddy Street in downtown San Francisco. The drama features AaRon Murphy and Frannie Morrison, and is directed by Stephen Drewes.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration, Oklahoma!, which earned the legendary duo a special Pulitzer prize, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 22nd season. The musical previews June 12th and 13th, opens June 14th, running through June 30th on the main stage.

The full cast has been announced for Annie Baker's play Circle Mirror Transformation, which runs from 5 July - 3 August at the Rose Lipman Building in Haggerston as part of the Royal Court's Theatre Local project. The full cast will be Toby Jones, Imelda Staunton, Shannon Tarbet, Danny Webb and Fenella Woolgar.

THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, described as the provocative and wickedly funny theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, will return to Walnut Creek after playing to capacity audiences in October 2009. The limited engagement will run at the Hoffmann Theatre, Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive in Walnut Creek, on Friday, June 21 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 23 at 3 p.m.

As Spring makes its way to Seattle, ESP goes to Texas for a typically beautifully-made play by the late, great Horton Foote, author of, among many works, The Trip to Bountiful, and the screenplays of Tender Mercies and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Heralded playwright Horton Foote, born March 14, 1916 would be 97 years old today. His play The Trip to Bountiful starts previews on Broadway March 30, 2013 and official opens April 23, 2013 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St) starring Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding, Jr, Vanessa Williams, Condola Rashad and Tom Wopat. Foote passed away on March 4, 2009.
