After numerous trips to Israel and nearly a decade of writing and refining, Human Cargo's artistic director and playwright Christopher Morris's newest show, THE RUNNER, is ready for audiences at Theatre Passe Murailles. Morris took time to delve into the process behind the show's research and inspiration, giving us a look into how the one-man show was created - and how the idea came to him over 20 years ago.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

Kate Douglas (SLEEP NO MORE) directs her new dance theatre work EXTINCT, running November 29th - December 15th. From a creative team of immersive theater veterans comes a surreal office experience that explores our culture of routine over reflection and what we are killing to make a killing.

The Hudson River Park has announced that they will honor Award-winning actor, Claire Danes; Deputy Mayor, City of New York & Vice Chair, Hudson River Park Trust, Alicia Glen and Chairman & CEO, RXR Realty LLC, Scott Rechler at the 2018 Gala on Thursday, October 11th at Pier 62 in Hudson River Park.

Hot on the heels of last year's monstrous seasonal special Just Another Zombie Holiday Show, Vampire Christmas is EXIT's latest foray into creating our own holiday classics, one twisted creature feature at a time. Co-written by longtime EXIT veterans and heroes of the indie theater scene, Allison Page and Stuart Bousel, and directed by Alejandro Emmanuel Torres, Vampire Christmas will provide an excellent escape from the usual Christmas-time fare, for the living and the undead alike.

This September features many new titles coming to Amazon Prime. Prime Original series King Lear will become available on Prime Video on September 28th. Other Prime Originals coming to the service in September include series premieres of Six Dreams (Sep 7) and Forever (Sep 14) as well as season 1a of Pete the Cat (Sep 7) and season 2b of Wishenpoof (Sep 7). Additionally, you can catch season two of PBS's hit British series Victoria starting August 25 on Prime Video.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) will present Middle Eastern MixFest, a series of free readings co-curated by playwrights Mona Mansour and Heather Raffothat will run Wednesday, August 8th through Thursday, August 16th at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

In the annals of jazz history, few events have been more influential than the Jazz at the Philharmonic concert series, and the album series of the same name. From 1944 to 1957, pioneering impresario, Verve Records founder, Norman Granz organized a series of prestigious all-star concerts that featured a who's-who of the genre's most popular and influential artists. These shows were instrumental in raising jazz's public profile, and were among the first high-profile performances to feature racially mixed bands performing for integrated audiences.

The New Black Fest and The Lark, two theater organizations dedicated to celebrating and advocating for stories that explore the intersection of art and social justice, are proud to announce the fifth annual The New Black Fest at The Lark. This week-long event is aimed at showcasing diverse and provocative work in a festival of Black theater artists from throughout the Diaspora, and will feature talkbacks, a panel event, and staged readings of four plays-in-progress. The festival will take place April 9-13, 2018, and will include works by 2017 Djerassi Writer in Residence France-Luce Benson (Deux Femmes On the Edge De La Revolution), 2018 Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award recipient Donja R. Love (soft), 2015 Princess Grace Award-Winner Jonathan Payne (Brother Rabbit), and artist, activist, and The New Black Fest alum Liza Jessie Peterson (Sistergurls and the Squirrel) who has performed excerpts of her one-person play The Peculiar Patriot in over 35 penitentiaries across the country.

Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will host Druid, Ireland's most celebrated theatre company, and their critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot. Directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes, Druid's production of Samuel Beckett's absurd, anarchic masterpiece will make its regional premiere at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from April 17 through May 20, 2018 before it travels on to Chicago.

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado for the Orchestra's 16th annual summer residency there, performing six orchestral concerts July 20-27, 2018.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) has added a performance (February 8 at 9pm) to its critically lauded world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, directed by Evan Yionoulis. The run will conclude, as a scheduled, on February 11.

Rosemary and Time, the mesmerizing new play written by award-winning playwright Jennifer Fell Hayes, opens next week at the Paradise Factory Main Stage in the East Village. The Trustees of The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that SUGAR IN OUR WOUNDS by Donja R. Love is the recipient of the Laurents / Hatcher Foundation Award. Mr. Love will receive $50,000, and Manhattan Theatre Club, who will present the world premiere in June 2018, will receive $100,000 towards the production.

Much like a prism refracts light into a colorful spectrum, guitarist Chris Standring's Sunlight reflects rays of multihued jazz into a vibrant sonic palette of joy and positivity.

Alice Barlow and Michelle Gayle will star in the heart-warming new musical Son of a Preacher Man. Alice will play the role of Kat from 16 January 2018 and Michelle will play the role of Alison from 6 March 2018.
