Play Me Again Pianos, a nonprofit charity dedicated to installing and permanently maintaining 88 public pianos throughout the Atlanta area, announced today its newest piano will be unveiled outside Grange Hall at Serenbe on Saturday, June 16, at 4:30 p.m.  Play Me Again Pianos invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the piano named "Ida." The event will feature a brief performance from Serenbe community members, after which Ida will be available for everyone to play and enjoy.

Working on William Wycherley's The Country Wife for its forthcoming production at Southwark Playhouse has revealed much about attitudes to sex, to gender equality, to social behaviour and to class. This is from a text written in 1675, but with themes that fill our broadsheets and tabloids. The recent #MeToo campaign and the blatant misogyny and gender imbalance with regards equality are, quite rightly, at the forefront of the news.

Des Moines Metro Opera's (DMMO) General and Artistic Director, Michael Egel, is pleased to announce the full casting for the Company's 46th Festival Season, which runs from June 22 through July 15, 2018, and offers 17 performances of four different operas.

The new music ensemble, International Street Cannibals (ISC), presents "The Easily Satisfied Lover" - an evening of vocal works from the period of early modernism, which turns its lens on archaic male narratives of romance and reframes them through the voice and sensibility of a 21st century woman. Central to the evening is the performance of Arnold Schoenberg's monodrama, Pierrot Lunaire, op. 21 (1912) - a fantastical setting of 21 poems by Belgian symbolist poet Albert Giraud and freely translated in German by Otto Erich Hartleben. The program is a creation of soprano Ariadne Greif, Los Angeles-based director Gray Palmer, and ISC's founder/director Dan Barrett. It features conducting by maestro Christopher Lyndon-Gee; film footage by Swiss-Japanese filmmaker Caroline Mariko Stucky, especially created for this performance; and technical direction and stage management by Tyler Learned.

The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada performed their fourth European tour concert on Wednesday, March 14, in front of a nearly sold-out crowd at the distinguished Filharmonia Narodowa in Warsaw, Poland.

French Embassy's Young French Cinema Program Provides the US Access with 20 New French Films

The Old Globe's 2017 2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for Anton Chekhov's masterpiece Uncle Vanya, which has received a Globe-commissioned world premiere translation from Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, andLarissa Volokhonsky. Richard Nelson (Illyria, The Gabriel Plays, Tony Award winner for Best Book of a Musical for James Joyce's The Dead) also directs. Uncle Vanya will run February 10 March 11, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run February 10 14. Opening night is Thursday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Lantern Theater Company continues its 24th season with Michael Frayn's award-winning play Copenhagen. Considered the greatest play ever written about science and winner of two Tony Awards including Best Play, Frayn's riveting drama puts us in the heart of the greatest moral dilemma of the 20th century. Kittson O'Neill will make her Lantern directorial debut, working with cast members Charles McMahon, Sally Mercer, and Paul L. Nolan. As part of their 2017 summer season, Irish Repertory Theatre, is presenting the US premiere of THE ARAN ISLANDS, directed by Joe O' Byrne. Returning to Irish Rep after 16 years, O'Byrne is looking forward to sharing Irish playwright, John Millington Synge's work with New York audiences and is grateful to this organization for making it possible to share the work of Irish artists. This classic work celebrates the art of storytelling and challenges audiences to step outside their own cultures for a brief time and immerse themselves in a whole new world of discovery and enlightenment. 11th Hour Theatre Company's 12th season comes to a close with its final Next Step Concert Series performance. This time the series features a new musical by Nathan Christensen and Scott Murphy, Broadcast.  Broadcast comes to the Next Step Concert Series June 23-25. Drew Cohen, President of Music Theatre International (MTI), announced today that MTI will represent the secondary stage performance rights to five musicals by the legendary writing team of Lerner & Loewe, including their masterpiece My Fair Lady, the beloved classics Camelot, Brigadoon and Paint Your Wagon, and their newly-restored early work, The Day Before Spring.   MTI, from June 1, will begin representing My Fair Lady in the US, the UK, and all English-language territories, and will represent the four other titles on a worldwide basis.
