Tony nominee, Drama Desk Lifetime Achievement honoree and two-time MAC Award winner, Charles Busch, returns to Feinstein's 54 Below with a new show that gets to the essence of this legendary entertainer. Weaving tales of his Manhattan childhood and adolescence raised by his indomitable Aunt Lillian through the lens of the tumultuous decade of the 1960's, Charles will be singing a great songbook from Broadway to Pop, featuring the work of among others Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, the Beatles, Henry Mancini, Bob Dylan, Stephen Sondheim and Kander and Ebb. Songs include Two for the Road, Anyone Who Had a Heart and The Times They Are A-Changin'.

There are many reasons why THE FANTASTICKS original off-Broadway production ran a total of 42 years and 17,162 performances, making it the world's longest-running musical which continues to enchant audiences around the world. Aside from it being a 'Romeo and Juliet' type story we can all relate to, but with a much happier ending, its most well-known song, 'Try to Remember,' speaks to everyone wanting to go back to a time in our lives when all things were much more simple, romantic, and totally carefree.

Leonard Bernstein was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He took piano lessons as a boy and attended the Garrison and Boston Latin Schools. At Harvard University, he studied with Walter Piston, Edward Burlingame-Hill, and A. Tillman Merritt, among others. Before graduating in 1939, he made an unofficial conducting debut with his own incidental music to 'The Birds,' and directed and performed in Marc Blitzstein's 'The Cradle Will Rock.' Then at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, he studied piano with Isabella Vengerova, conducting with Fritz Reiner, and orchestration with Randall Thompson.

Lenny Bruce was a complex man, and his life is now captured in a solo performance called Lenny Bruce is Back, produced by the Dallas based Bren Rapp and Upstart Productions, and stars Upstart Artistic Director Joey Folsom. The show is unique because despite being a theatrical performance recounting Bruce's life, the show will go on stage at traditional theaters, comedy venues, including iO West in Los Angeles and Second City in Chicago, and even the Dallas Burlesque Club Viva's. It's only appropriate for a man that defied definition throughout his career.

New Amsterdam Singers to Present LIFE IS BUT A DREAM

New Amsterdam Singers (NAS), led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will present its final concert of the season titled "Life Is But a Dream," featuring premieres of works by American composers Robert Paterson, Ronald Perera, and Ben Moore inspired by poetry and folk melodies, and a World-Premiere Commission based on Shakespeare texts by Matthew Harris in honor of the chorus's upcoming 50th anniversary. Opening on Father's Day, June 18, 2017, the exhibition launches a "Summer of Play!" for Autry visitors of all ages, including playground games, movies on the Autry Lawn, LEGO® days, and drop-in family activities.
