Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of She's So Unusual, performing the album in its entirety on Saturday, November 16, at 8 p.m. Recorded and released in 1983, this album made rock history as Cyndi's debut solo album, exposing the world to her unique and multifaceted talent through her most unusual well-known songs and perennial radio favorites "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop", "Money Changes Everything" and "All Through the Night". She's So Unusual made Lauper a household name and cemented her place in musical history as the first female artist to have four Top 10 singles on a debut album. The release went on to sell more than 16 million copies worldwide and earned Lauper a Grammy Award for "Best New Artist". Special guest is Hunter Valentine, an alternative all-girl rock band out of Toronto, Canada. This event is part of the XFinity Rock Series.

Symphony Space will open its 2013-14 Music season with 'Kurt Weill on Broadway,' Monday, October 7 (8 pm) at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. The show takes place on the 70th anniversary of the Broadway opening of Weill's One Touch of Venus. Ted Chapin hosts a stellar cast featuring Melissa Errico, Brent Barrett, Judy Blazer, and Ron Raines, plus winners of the international Lotte Lenya Competition.

Megan Mullally is a two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will & Grace, and recent star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein. On August 28 & 29 she returns to Provincetown by popular demand - for two shows only - after her sold-out Art House debut last summer. Patti LuPone won her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, as well Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, for her performance as Rose in the most recent Broadway production of Gypsy, and created the title role in Evita on Broadway with her now legendary performance, for which she won her first Tony and Drama Desk Awards. Back in March, Liza Minnelli and Alan Cumming, in celebration of Liza's birthday, joined forces at The Town Hall to sing familiar songs from 'Cabaret' and and more. The show was previously performed at Fire Island last summer, produced by Daniel Nardicio, and according to Michael Musto for Out.com, the act will move again- this time to Broadway.

Bloomberg and Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver today presented the eighth annual 'Made in NY' Awards, honoring individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the City's entertainment and digital media industries. The 2013 'Made in NY' honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; 'Project Runway' host and executive producer Heidi Klum; two time Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee; five time Tony Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year's 'Made in NY' Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters. The awards took place at Gracie Mansion and featured a special performance by the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots introduced by Harvey Fierstein.

According to the Daily Mail and TMZ, stage and screen star Tim Curry, 67, reportedly suffered a stroke in his Hollywood Hills home last night. Curry was taken to the hospital, but is now 'doing great,' according to agent Marcia Hurwitz.
