Kids' Night on Broadway is a year-round national audience development program of The Broadway League, the national trade association of the Broadway industry, created to introduce kids and young adults to the magical world of theatrical entertainment. Hershey Theatre is proud to participate on Wednesday, January 27, when CINDERELLA visits town. 

Renowned Spanish artist Cristobal Gabarron has created Enlightened Universe,an art installation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations. The installation will be unveiled by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon at Central Park's Rumsey Playing Field (Entrance on East 72nd street and Fifth Avenue) in New York City on today, October 24 at 4.30 PM EST.Enlightened Universe will be on view until Nov. 15, 2015. The Secretary-General will make opening remarks and will be joined by UN officials, staff, diplomats, city officials, and global citizens.

'[Thank you] to an incredible cast of British and American actors who make the Atlantic look like a little creek you can just kind of pop across,' said Dame Helen Mirren upon receiving her 2015 Tony Award. The stage and screen star reprised her critically-acclaimed performance in THE AUDIENCE after a West End run in 2013, and she was just one of many to 'pop across' an ocean for a stab at Broadway.  An unprecedented amount of British talent took over Broadway last year, bringing us such productions as THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, WOLF HALL: PARTS 1 & 2, and SKYLIGHT.   It doesn't seem like the trend is ending anytime soon. This fall, Broadway will welcome a slew of British actors- some of whom will be making their US stage debuts in incoming productions. And it's not just performers. We're getting some complete British imports in shows like A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and KING CHARLES III. Below, we're taking a moment to shine a spotlight on this season's British imports.

International City Theatre has announced a season of five critically acclaimed plays by six multiple award-winning writers for 2016. The company's 31st season launches on Feb. 12 at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.

Due to popular demand, the New York Philharmonic and Warner Bros. will present an additional performance of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony, a program celebrating classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons with the New York Philharmonic playing the music live while the animation is screened.

The Off-Broadway League has announced details for the 2015 Lucille Lortel Awards, which will celebrate 30 years of recognizing Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the NYU Skirball Center, beginning at 7:00 PM EST. The program will be co-hosted by Emmy Award Nominees Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family") and Anna Chlumsky ("Veep," Broadway's upcoming "Living on Love").

First premiered by the Royal Shakespeare Company at Hampstead Theatre in 2010, this tour marks the U.S. premiere of Dunsinane after a highly successful tour to East Asia and Russia in spring 2014. Hailed by The Guardian as 'a work of compelling intelligence, provocation and wit,' Dunsinane will play at the Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from tonight, February 4-21, 2015.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the nation's longest-standing, most distinguished ensemble theater, announced today new leadership and unveiled plans for a future campus expansion. Steppenwolf ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Anna D. Shapiro will succeed Martha Lavey as artistic director at the conclusion of the current season in fall 2015.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Artistic Director Peter Boal and principal dancer Carla Körbes have announcedthat Ms. Körbes will retire from the Company at the end of PNB's 2014-2015 season. Ms. Körbes joined PNB as a soloist in 2005 and was promoted to principal in 2006.

The legendary Cherry Lane Theatre - which this year will celebrate its 90th anniversary as one of the nation's most revered institutions for its commitment to producing new works for the stage - opens its 90th season with the world-premiere of Lisa Ramirez's play TO THE BONE directed by Lisa Peterson, set to open tonight, September 17 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Greenwich Village). The production runs through October 4.

Forest Hills Stadium (ForestHillsStadium.com), the legendary sporting and entertainment venue hidden in the idyllic Queens, New York neighborhood of Forest Hills, has added a second show to their 2014 concert season. This season will feature an exciting and eclectic mix of some of the biggest names in music and entertainment today, including a special co-headlining performance by Modest Mouse and Brand New tonight, August 9th. This concert will follow the previously announced performance by Zac Brown Band on Saturday, June 21st which sold out in minutes.

Denver Zoo welcomed the addition of three spotted hyena cubs this week from two locations for needed socialization and to promote healthy breeding for the species. Kelele (keh-LAY-lay), a male born on June 26, arrived from the Buffalo Zoo on July 31. On August 1, two unnamed females born on June 11 arrived from Kapi'yva Exotics, a private facility in Houston, Texas that specializes in the propagation of rare and endangered species. The cubs must first pass a mandatory, month-long quarantine before visitors can see them. All three cubs arrived on flights donated by Frontier Airlines, Denver's hometown airline and the Denver Zoo's official airline sponsor, accompanied by a Denver Zoo keeper and staff member.
