Due to popular pre-sale demand, a year in advance, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will extend Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning TALLEY'S FOLLY, the second fully staged production to be performed in the company's second stage performance space, Harry's UpStage. The company will add a sixth show to the existing performance weeks and will extend the original run dates an additional two weeks. Aurora Theatre Company pays homage to Lanford Wilson with "The Talley Trilogy." Acclaimed Bay Area actress and director Joy Carlin (After the Revolution, Body Awareness, Jack Goes Boating, Awake and Sing!) directs the first entry in this series of three interrelated plays.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston announces a trio of Tony Award-winning musicals for its 46th consecutive summer season at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452). South Pacific, the Rodgers and Hammerstein masterpiece about love and stereotypes set against the backdrop of a lush tropical island during WWII, opens the season June 12-22. Me and My Girl, the joyously funny story of an unrefined cockney gent who must choose between love or money, runs July 10-20. The season closes with a drenching revival of Reagle's IRNE-award winning production of Singin' in the Rain from August 7-17.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) presents The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith by Angelo Parra and directed by Joe Brancato, January 9- February 2, continuing the theater's 35th season with the soulful blues. The Old Globe today announced it will present the New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by both professional and aspiring playwrights, Dec. 13 - 15, 2013. The Festival will kick off Friday with an evening of 10-minute plays, directed by Katherine Harroff, that were written over the past year by community members who took part in The Old Globe Community Voices, a program dedicated to introducing adult residents of San Diego County to the process of creating their own theatrical work. The Festival weekend will also feature readings by professional playwrights, including Luce by JC Lee, directed by Shana Cooper; The Great Pretender by David West Read, directed by Richard Seer; and A Nice Indian Boy by Madhuri Shekar, directed by James Vasquez. Funded by a grant from The James Irvine Foundation, the New Voices Festival will take place in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets to all four readings are free but require reservations. Reservations are currently available to donors and subscribers. Tickets can be reserved by calling the Box Office at (619) 23-GLOBE.

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, John Steinbeck's OF MICE AND MEN will be heading to Broadway beginning (tentatively) Saturday, March 22, 2014, with an opening night slated for Thursday, April 17, 2014. The show is set to run through Sunday, July 27, 2014. The play will be directed by Anna D. Shapiro. James Franco has just confirmed in an interview with US Weekly that he will lead the production as 'George', and Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids, Girls) will costar as 'Lennie.' Additional casting has not yet been announced.

Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo announced today that Bronx Bombers, a new American play written and directed by Eric Simonson, will begin performances on Broadway starting January 10, 2014 at Circle in the Square Theater (235 West 50th Street). Though no one has signed on to play 'Lennie', Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids, Girls) is in talks to make his Broadway debut in the role. Additional casting has not yet been announced.
