Candace Quarrels' story is one of those hard-to-believe show business tales that is likely to resonate with so many people, for so long, that it might become legendary in time. In fact, it may be the modern day equivalent to the age-old tale of a young, sweater-clad Lana Turner being discovered at a lunch counter in Schwab's drugstore in L.A. (back in the day when aspiring starlets had lunch at drug store soda fountains) and being transformed into a movie star - who, interestingly enough (especially for this story), became a legend.

'[Thank you] to an incredible cast of British and American actors who make the Atlantic look like a little creek you can just kind of pop across,' said Dame Helen Mirren upon receiving her 2015 Tony Award. The stage and screen star reprised her critically-acclaimed performance in THE AUDIENCE after a West End run in 2013, and she was just one of many to 'pop across' an ocean for a stab at Broadway. An unprecedented amount of British talent took over Broadway last year, bringing us such productions as THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, WOLF HALL: PARTS 1 & 2, and SKYLIGHT.
It doesn't seem like the trend is ending anytime soon.
This fall, Broadway will welcome a slew of British actors- some of whom will be making their US stage debuts in incoming productions. And it's not just performers. We're getting some complete British imports in shows like A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and KING CHARLES III. Below, we're taking a moment to shine a spotlight on this season's British imports.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - CNBC host, entrepreneur and philanthropist Marcus Lemonis has shown over and over that he knows how to help companies increase revenue on his hit CNBC reality series, 'The Profit,' and now he is asking college sports fans to do the same for their favorite schools. Lemonis is following up on a friendly rivalry wager he made in 2014 from his Twitter account @MarcusLemonis, when his beloved Miami Hurricanes played against their well-known rivals the Florida State Seminoles in a football game. Lemonis promised that he would donate $25,000 to the FSU School of Business if the football team won against Miami. The Seminoles reigned successful in the November 15, 2014 battle with an end score of FSU 30 to Miami 26. Now, Lemonis is not only paying up, but also stepping up, by encouraging corporations and alumni from across the country to join his challenge, 'Ballgames to Books,' by offering donations to their rival's academic departments when their favorite team loses. Donations are encouraged in any amount, starting at $25.
