Women in Love, as adapted from the D. H. Lawrence novel of the same name and directed by Chuck DeLong, is a contemporized and Americanized love story about two sisters -Ursula and Gudrun Brangwen- and the respective men in their lives, best friends Rupert Birkin and Gerald Crich. The play details the sisters' struggles with romance, domesticity, and the challenges of being young independent strong-willed women in today's society. Frequently humorous, often bittersweet, and sometimes tragic, the story addresses themes of social class, rivalry, passion and love versus lust, art versus industry, as well as inner conflict and turmoil.

Ford's Theatre Society Director Paul Tetreault announced the Society's 2009-2010 season, a lineup that includes 'Black Pearl Sings!,' a new production of 'A Christmas Carol,' Norman Corwin's 'The Rivalry,' originally read as part of the Living Lincoln series, and the musical 'Little Shop of Horrors.'
