New York City theater collective The Assembly will present a curated conversation series to accompany the West Coast premiere of HOME/SICK, a theatrical re-imagining of the history of the Weather Underground. Select performances of The New York Times 'Critic's Pick' production, which is set for a limited, four-week engagement in a co-production with West L.A.'s Odyssey Theatre from June 11 through July 3, will be followed by discussions with former Weathermen, historians, activists and artists engaged with today's political struggles.

SAN FRANCISCO (May 25) – The San Francisco Symphony announces new updates to its annual Summer with the Symphony series, which runs July 4–29at Davies Symphony Hall and at other outdoor locations throughout the Bay Area. Led by Director of Summer Concerts Edwin Outwater, Summer with the Symphony features a festive lineup of concerts and events for all ages.

Central Works (CW) presents the world premiere of Patricia Milton's latest political comedy Hearts of Palm, opening with a press night July 16th (previews July 14th &15th), and running through August 14 at the historic Berkeley City Club. Unrequited Love meets Unregulated Capitalism in Milton's very funny new play Hearts of Palm, developed in the Central Works Writers Workshop.  A multi-award winning playwright, Patricia Milton's hit Enemies: Foreign and Domestic, wan produced by Central Works in 2015 and awarded  "Outstanding World Premiere" by Theatre Bay Area (TBA) when judged against all Bay Area theater companies.

On May 24, The Lorraine Hansberry Awards, presented by Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith and Woodie King, Jr., New Federal Theatre Artistic Director, will honor five women: Micki Grant, Lynn Hamilton, Shauneille Perry, Dr. Glory Van Scott and Camille Yarbrough.

FOX has ordered 13 episodes of a new hour-long, live-action comedic drama series created and executive-produced by Emmy Award winner Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, “Ted”), who is also set to star. The series is being targeted for the 2017-2018 television season, it was announced today by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group.

Wales Millennium Centre and National Theatre Wales have today called out to the people of Cardiff, Wales and Britain to take part in Roald Dahl's City of the Unexpected, Cardiff's landmark celebration of Wales' foremost storyteller. Director, Nigel Jamieson, leads the search for a cast of 6,000 volunteers, including 2,000 choristers, 1,000 dancers, 50 Morris Minor drivers, 40 bald men, 13 magicians, four brass bands, three excavator drivers, a Spitfire pilot, firemen, circus artists, aerialists, rockclimbers, grandparents, children and a performing mouse. Anyone interested in taking part, whether as a performer, a maker or an organiser, is encouraged to get in touch.

The Playwrights Realm, led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing DirectorRoberta Pereira, presents the line up for INK'D, their annual festival of new plays. Running May 17-20 at 7pm, The Realm will present staged readings of new work by 2015-16 Writing Fellows Sam Chanse, Lauren Feldman, Jonathan Payne, and David Zax. The Almeida Theatre announces the cast for the world premiere of Boy, a new play by Leo Butler, directed by Sacha Wares. The cast is Mohammad Amiri, Osmain Baig, Ruby Bridle, Emilio Doorgasingh, Terina Drayton, Aeran Fitzgerald, Frankie Fox, Ellie Mai Gallagher, Bayleigh Gray, Zainab Hasan, Duramaney Kamara, Asiatu Koroma, Wendy Kweh, Lev Litvinov, Georgie Lord, Angel Loren, Teann McDonnell, Eugenie-Alexia Mulumba, Sarah Niles, Demi Papaminas, Imogen Roberts, Abdul Salis, Morgane Tapia,Peter Temple and Matthew Wellard. Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May, with a Press Night on 12 April.

Oakland, CA, December 10, 2015—Music Director Michael Morgan and the Oakland Symphony continue their annual exploration of world orchestral music traditions this season with Notes from Vietnam, Today, February 12, 2016, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre. Featured will be Emmy Award-winning composer performer Vân-Ánh Võ, who will give the world premiere of her Lullaby for a Country, performing on the ?àn tranh (Vietnamese zither), ?àn B?u (monochord), and vocals. In addition, TV and Broadway star and filmmaker Michael Urie (Ugly Betty, Modern Family) will narrate Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra. Completing the program will be Dvo?ák's Carnival Overture. The Symphony's Notes from . . . series has become a popular mainstay of the Bay Area music scene and annually explores symphonic music both new and traditional from cultures that may be less well known to audiences. These are some of the important questions that music raises, and each year, Pacific Symphony, led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, attempts to shed light on the answers by exploring a different facet of American music through the American Composers Festival (ACF). This year's ACF spotlights organ music through four highly acclaimed organists and the splendor of the king of instruments-in this case, the one-of-a-kind William J. Gillespie Concert Organ, located in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Built from steel, tin, oak, poplar, maple, lead and carbon fiber, the astounding instrument found in the Symphony's concert hall required three years and 42,000 hours of labor by a team of organ builders at C.B Fisk in Gloucester, Mass., before making its debut with Pacific Symphony in 2008.
