The Houston Symphony announced today the details of its free, family-friendly Neighborhood Concerts and ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights. A summer tradition, these evening concerts are held in casual and accessible venues across Greater Houston, bringing the Houston Symphony to people of all ages and backgrounds.

George Bernard Shaw's comic romance of the Cockney flower girl and the Phonetics professor is recreated in New Theatre's staging of PYGMALION. 

Grammy Award-winning duo Indigo Girls joins the Houston Symphony for a one-night-only performance of their greatest hits at 7:30 p.m. April 10, 2019.

New York Live Arts (Live Arts) to present the New York premiere of Netta Yerushalmy's Paramodernities, March 14-17, 2019, having commissioned the work as part of the Live Feed Residency Program. The complete six-part encyclopedic series is a multidisciplinary work that weaves theory and performance into a four-hour-long hybrid event. Yerushalmy and a cast of 20 dancers and scholars, ranging in age from 20 to 68, perform deconstructed installments of Nijinsky's “Sacre” (1913), Graham's “Night Journey” (1947), Ailey's “Revelations” (1960), a mix of Cunningham works “Rainforest,” “Sounddance”, “Points in Space”, “Beach Birds”,  and “Ocean” (1968-1990), dance numbers from the 1969 Fosse's film “Sweet Charity”, and a response to Balanchine's “Agon” (1957) that includes none of the original choreography.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today special events and programming for the month of March as part of the The Sean O'Casey Season, a comprehensive retrospective of the work of renowned Irish playwright Sean O'Casey, celebrating 30 years of Irish Repertory Theatre.

Meet Miss Baker has begun, with previews of The Price of Thomas Scott, directed by Mint Theater Artistic Director Jonathan Bank. Performances began January 24th and continue through March 23rd at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for February 20th.

'19: The Musical' is the brainchild of Through the 4th Wall co-founders, Jennifer Schwed and Doug Bradshaw. Both DC natives, Schwed and Bradshaw conceived the idea of a musical about the passage of the 19th Amendment back in 2016, and have been overseeing workshops and concert performances for a little over a year, with an eye toward a full production in time for the Amendment's centennial in 2020.

Artistic and Executive Director of Exeter Northcott Theatre Daniel Buckroyd today announces the full cast for a major new revival of Schiller's Don Carlos presented in a co-production with Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) and Rose Theatre Kingston. Gadi Roll directs Tom Burke (Rodrigo, Marquis of Posa), Alexandra Dowling (Eboli), Darrell D'Silva (Philip), Kelly Gough (Elizabeth), Jason Morell (Domingo), Vinta Morgan (Alba), Samuel Valentine (Don Carlos), Stephen Ventura (Lerma) Flip Webster (Duchess), with Alexander Allin, Dan Ball, Guy Dennys and Euan Shanahan completing the company's ensemble.

One of the fist modern instances of 'breaking the fourth wall,' Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN is a story addressed directly to an audience - by the production's Stage Manager, the narrator and an occasional player in the story. It's a tale of the life of the fictional Grover's Corners, New Hampshire from 1901 through 1913, seen through the eyes of two neighboring families and the Stage Manager's decription of the locale.

The Houston Symphony will celebrate the music of pop sensation George Michael for one-night-only on Saturday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the program The Music of George Michael, as part of the Bank of America Summer Series at Jones Hall.

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. Battersea Arts Centre announces nine additions to its autumn programme, including spoken word, live cinema and cabaret.

New York Classical Theatre (Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director), New York City's only all-free professional Off-Broadway theatre company, is pleased to announce a new production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to celebrate its 19th Anniversary Season. The production, directed by Mr. Burdman, is the company's first staging of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, and will be presented in five New York City parks - Central Park, Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City, The Battery, Carl Schurz Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park - with performances from June 5 through July 29 at 7:00 PM. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. New York Classical Theatre also invites audiences to experience unique behind-the-scenes access to open rehearsals on selected dates for each of the five park stagings.

Actors' Equity Association has announced that Equity's National Council has voted to retire the name 'Gypsy Robe' -- the name for the ritual that occurs on the stage of every Broadway musical with a chorus on opening night before the audience is admitted. While the name will change, the tradition will continue next season unchanged. 

Built in 1913, Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre (Australia's last operating Tivoli Theatre from the famous national vaudeville circuit) will close its doors after one memorable final night performance on Saturday, March 24 to undergo a major redevelopment.

Alumnae Theatre Company's 30th annual New Ideas Festival, a three-week, juried celebration of original writing and works-in-progress, takes place from March 7 to 25 in Alumnae's Studio Theatre (70 Berkeley St at Adelaide).
