In conjunction with the Natural History Museum of L.A. County's 100th Anniversary, Chalk Repertory Theatre will premiere GALLERY SECRETS, four new short plays commissioned by four Los Angeles playwrights performed after hours at NHM. Each play is inspired by an assigned gallery, and set in the time period when that gallery was built, uncovering 100 years of history, architecture and exhibits.

Chalk Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the cast of GALLERY SECRETS, presented in conjunction with the Natural History Museum of L.A. County's 100th Anniversary. Performances take place at the NHM on September 21, 22, 27, 29 and October 5, 6, 11 and 13 at 7:00pm.

Opening today, September 13, Miracle Theatre Group will present the 5th edition of 'La Luna Nueva', the annual festival of Hispanic arts and culture from around the world, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Night by night, our renowned multidisciplinary arts festival will showcase the richness and diversity of Latin artistic expressions. Flamenco, Tango, Latin jazz, theater, play readings, comedy, homages to Pablo Neruda and Frida Kahlo and visual art, launching Milagro's 30th season!

This year's Ars Electronica Festival is set for today, September 5-9 in Linz. The title is TOTAL RECALL - The Evolution of Memory. The festival program will consist, as always, of a splendid array of symposia, exhibitions, performances, interventions and concerts; the details will be announced online at www.aec.at/totalrecall/en.

The premiere of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps and the ensuing riot in response to its revolutionary sound and Vaslav Nijinsky's radical choreography has become music and dance legend. Since that fateful night in 1913, this innovative piece of music has inspired countless composers and choreographers. Coinciding with the centenary of the work, director Anne Bogart and choreographer Bill T. Jones present the New York premiere of their collaborative piece, A Rite, as part of the 2013 Next Wave Festival.

The Michael Schimmel Center for the Performing Arts at Pace University today announced its 2013|2014 Pace Presents Season, under the Executive Direction of Martin I. Kagan, is a world-class performing arts series with an emphasis on music superstars from around the globe, charismatic and innovative dance performances, stunning opera stars in recital and spectacular contemporary cabaret. The Pace Presents season begins on September 21 with a big band tribute to the late, great lounge legend Esquivel from Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica, culminating onJune 1 with the reunion performance of Tina Croll and Jamie Cunningham'sdance/theatre piece From the Horse's Mouth.

The theatre programme for the Manchester International Festival 2013 has been announced. MIF13 commissions include: The Machine, The Old Woman, Macbeth, The Masque of Anarchy and The Rite of Spring.

Tonight, June 28, the Houston Symphony will perform a free concert as part of the ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights series at Miller Outdoor Theatre. The concert will feature the famous Romeo and Juliet Overture by Tchaikovsky, followed by popular works from Mendelssohn and Schumann. Led by American conductor Case Scaglione, the concert will also feature pianist Kuok-Wai Lio. Born in Macau, Kuok-Wai has gained worldwide recognition performing with various orchestras and for multiple festivals and competitions. Kuok-Wai will be making his Houston debut performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in G Minor.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre has announced its 2013/2014 Season, which will include two treasures from iconic American playwrights. The critically-acclaimed and Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' will present the family drama Natural Affection by William Inge and the comedy Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, Off-Broadway at The Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Theatre Row. Neither play has been seen in NYC since their original productions.

WOODY GUTHRIE AT 100! LIVE AT THE KENNEDY CENTER pays homage to the artistry of American folk musician Woody Guthrie. This new CD+DVD commemorative package captures the historic all-star concert staged in his honor last October in Washington, DC.

California native, longtime Palm Springs resident and supporter of the arts, Richard 'Dickie' Long passed away last night at home at 10:55pm at the age of 99.

The Virginia Arts Festival will make-and remake-history on May 29. That's when the Festival will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the world premiere of The Rite of Spring, Igor Stravinsky's groundbreaking work that changed the worlds of music and dance forever.

Aaron Copland once characterized 'The Rite of Spring' as the foremost orchestral achievement of the 20th century, and The New York Times proclaimed the significance of the work to be 'to the 20th century as Beethoven's Ninth is to the 19th.' With the arrival of the centennial of Stravinsky's iconic masterwork, a reverberation of celebration can be heard around the symphonic world and Pacific Symphony is no exception, offering a variety of activities that continue through June 8. In conceiving 'The Rite of Spring,' Stravinsky broke all the rules and defied convention, and it is very much in this spirit that the Symphony approaches its celebration-culminating with a party on the arts plaza, featuring the Symphony's second 'Inside and Out' Plazacast and Community Celebration-a free live simulcast of the concert projected onto the wall of Segerstrom Hall. Celebrating the 1970s, the Houston Symphony and Michael Cavanaugh will entertain audiences in concerts of classic rock favorites tonight, April 19 and April 20 & 21. Under the direction of Associate Conductor Robert Franz, the Symphony will accompany Cavanaugh on hits from Elton John and bands such as Journey, Chicago, the Eagles and Styx.

Metropolitan Playhouse, OBIE Award winner, presents the fourth annual East Village Theater Festival, a three-week celebration of the ever-vital life and lore of the East Village. The festival features four different evenings of new plays and solo-performances, as well as the work of local artists, and a panel discussion on the neighborhood's changing identity.
