La MaMa presents Clover, a new experimental theater drama about America's history of violence by Erik Ehn, directed by Glory Kadigan with original music by Maya Solovey and original puppet design & puppetry direction by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew. Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook series returns for its 18th season of celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting. During February and March 2016, established and rising singers and singer-songwriters across a range of genres-Southern soul, bluegrass, folk, R&B, indie rock, pop, musical theater, and more-will take The Appel Room stage for concerts that explore the many iterations of American song. And in spring, American Songbook will return to Alice Tully Hall with two dynamic women whose artistry in two very different arenas demonstrates the expansive reach of American song embodied in the series.

On Sunday, October 23rd, 2016, acclaimed pianist and Music Director Polly Ferman and the Glamour Tango ensemble brought together an all-female multi-media music and dance performance to pay homage to women who quietly wrote the pages of Tango from the very beginning. In this one-night only engagement at Le Poisson Rouge, audiences were exposed to the art of Tango from the Rio de la Plata region in South America in a different light.

Since winning hearts during his stint on Strictly Come Dancing, partnered by Flavia Cacace, actor and astrologer Russell Grant has starred in Hairspray, Grease and The Wizard of Oz. He's now hosting The Golden Age of Dance, a celebration of great dance numbers from classic films like Top Hat, Follow the Fleet, Swing Time and Shall We Dance, featuring a company of West End dancers and The Novello Orchestra. The show is at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 13 November and Wales Millennium Centre on 15 November.

Playhouse Merced has always been a little Kooky. And if their last few seasons have shown anything, it's that the company does not mind an occasional move toward the darkness in its fall-time programming. For Halloween 2016, Merced welcomes "The Addams Family" (snap snap), an altogether ooky cast of characters.

With pristine timing, just as Strictly takes to the floor, the third - and final - touring show from former pros Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace makes a stop in the West End. The 'last' of the title is more pertinent than the 'tango', as this is more of a medley of styles: the ballroom and Latin numbers reminding viewers that the pair were accomplished Ten Dancer competitors as well as Argentine tango show champions.

Three dazzling new opera productions are at the core of the inaugural Vancouver Opera Festival, April 28 to May 13, 2017. Full-scale productions of Giuseppe Verdi's late-career masterpiece Otello, featuring powerful tenor Clifton Forbis in the title role, and Jake Heggie's modern classic Dead Man Walking, with charismatic bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch as Joseph De Rocher, will be presented in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

The Tony- and Olivier Award-winning Broadway and West End hit, Florian Zeller's THE FATHER, translated from the French by Christopher Hampton, is set to have its South African premiere at The Fugard Studio Theatre.

The Arizona Authors' Association announced the finalists in Arizona's finest literary competition. Winners will be presented in Phoenix on November 5, 2016 at the Association's 35th Annual Awards Gala and Silent Auction. Works by all finalists will be published in the Arizona Literary Magazine 2017 scheduled for release in late Fall 2016.
