Pan American Musical Art Research (PAMAR), founded and directed by Polly Ferman (and this year celebrating its 30th Anniversary!) has announced the 8th annual Latin American Cultural Week, a sumptuous list of events showing the rich culture of Latin America, with music, dance and theater performances, films, visual arts, and auctions, today, November 15-24 all around town, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theater in NYC, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Queens Theater, with a couple of trips to the Ritz Theater in Elizabeth NJ and Symphony Hall in Newark NJ.

Billy Crystal returns to Broadway tonight to kick off a 9-week-only limited engagement of his Tony Award-winning, record-breaking play 700 SUNDAYS. Opening night is set for Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) and the final performance will be Sunday, January 5, 2014. 700 SUNDAYS is performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content byAlan Zweibel and direction by Des McAnuff.

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre kicks off its 44th season with 'The Ed Bullins Project' - two revivals from his 'Twentieth Century Cycle of Plays' - In The Wine Time and The Fabulous Miss Marie. Bullins, winner of the prestigious NY Drama Critics' Circle Award and OBIE Award for The Taking of Miss Janie, has greatly influenced American theatre, especially Black theatre. His work, characterized by disdain for ineffective political rhetoric as a substitute for action, most often examines the lives of Black people in the inner city. In 1968, Clive Barnes, writing in the New York Times called Bullins 'a welcome addition to the ranks of New York playwrights.' Four years later, Barnes added 'Bullins writes the way Charlie Parker played: It is all so easy and effortless. It sounds improvised, and yet it doesn't sound improvised, simply because it is the improvisation of formality.' Today, Bullins is regarded as a seminal force in the American theater.

Tony Award-winning shows like THE LION KING, WAR HORSE, and AVENUE Q have made extensive use of puppets on Broadway, but imaginative puppetry isn't limited to New York stages. The Off Center for the Dramatic Arts and The Saints & Poets Production Company present Chris Caswell's THE PUPPET SHOPPE, a two-person, many-puppet play directed by Jordan Gullikson.

The New Yiddish Rep is staging the first-ever production of Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot" in Yiddish. In an unusual collaboration with the Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street, where the world premiere runs from Friday September 20 to Sunday October 13, diverse audiences will see this seismic landmark of the modern theatre in an entirely new light. Directed by Moshe Yassur, with an authorized translation by Shane Baker, the production marks the 60th anniversary of "Waiting for Godot's" Paris premiere in January of 1953. This "Waiting for Godot" opens on Sunday September 22 at 2pm.

Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch has announced the company's 2013-2014 season. Eight new works enter Houston Ballet's repertoire, including world premieres by James Kudelka, Garrett Smith and Melissa Hough in September 2013; the North American premiere of David Bintley's Aladdin in February 2014; company premieres of Jiri Kylian's Sechs Tanze, Christopher Bruce's Intimate Pages and Stanton Welch's Of Blessed Memory as well as a world premiere A Young Person's Guide to Orchestra by Mr. Welch in March 2014.

The forthcoming Broadway production REAR WINDOW has found its creative team in playwright Keith Reddin(Too Much Memory, Life and Limb) and director Terry Kinney (reasons to be pretty, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Subway Cinema in association with Japan Society announce the full schedule today for the 2013 New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) which will screen June 28 - July 15. The popular film festival will showcase over 60 feature films with filmmakers and celebrity guests travelling from Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan to attend the festival. Also announced were special focuses for this year's edition of NYAFF including a celebration of the career of Korean star Ryoo Seung-Beom and new works from the Philippines (joining the previously announced focuses on Hong Kong cinema, Taiwan pulp and a salute to Well Go USA).
