Birmingham Hippodrome has announced a line-up of new productions including brand-new festive family musical The Jingleclaw, the first new musical to be produced by the Hippodrome. A stellar line up of West End and Broadway smash-hit musicals including & Juliet, Chitty Chitty Bang and Only Fools and Horses – The Musical will also come to the theatre in 2025.

Born from a savvy short sketch and returning to the stage following a hugely successful debut in 2023, Rock Paper, Scissors is a playful comedy of errors with a deeply dark twist. Written and directed by Chess Hayden, this farcical thriller will uncover the rawness of human nature, where the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors is used to make life-changing decisions. 

Welsh National Opera has announced that it will be withdrawing two weeks from its previously announced 2024/2025 Season. The changes mean that the Company will no longer be touring to Bristol Hippodrome in February 2025, and will not be touring to Venue Cymru, Llandudno in May 2025.

It’s been nine years since Kinky Boots first found its footing on British shores, with a West End run that lasted for three years. Now this beloved musical, set in Northampton and based on the 2005 film of the same name, finally takes to the stage in Darlington thanks to an exciting production from Darlington Operatic Society.

STOMP is here for a brief five-performance run through April 7 at Capital One Hall in Tysons. In STOMP, anything can be used to drive a beat and set the rhythm. Brooms, trashcans, grocery carts, inner tubes, suitcases – everything including kitchen sinks are objects to play with and explore. Zippo lighters, plastic bags and the performers’ bodies are pressed into action to create surprising and exuberant music.

Further dates have been announced for the 2024/2025 UK and Ireland tour of the multi award-winning musical CHICAGO. The tour will open at Milton Keynes Theatre on 12 October 2024.

Birmingham Hippodrome’s New Musical Theatre department have announced their first full production The Jingleclaw, a festive family musical created for 3–7 year olds.

Theatres Trust, the national advisory and advocacy body for theatres, has announced the second round of grants to be awarded through its Resilient Theatres: Resilient Communities programme.
