Prospect Theater Project and the Gallo Center for the Arts are joining again to bring Tartuffe, the comedy by French playwright Molière, to the Gallo Center stage July 27-29, 2012. Tartuffe follows two highly successful past partnerships between the Prospect Theater Project and the Gallo Center for the Arts; To Kill A Mockingbird in 2011 and The Grapes of Wrath in May 2012.

The Old Globe presents the West Coast Premiere of Divine Rivalry. Based on a real-life event, the drama about two of history's most famous artists-and one of history's most infamous statesmen-is written by Michael Kramer with D. S. Moynihan. Directed by Michael Wilson, Divine Rivalry runs now through August 5 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the directors for the Company's 2012-2013 Main Stage season at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, The Mystery of Irma Vep (September 28 - October 21, 2012) will be Terry Martin. It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (November 23 - December 16, 2012) will be directed by Mark Fleischer. Black Tie (May 31 - June 23, 2013) will be directed by Rene Moreno. As previously announced, Putting It Together (January 11 - February 3, 2013) and The Grapes of Wrath (April 5-28, 2013), will be directed by Terry Martin. The director for Xanadu (July 26 - August 18, 2013) will be announced at a later date.

Presented during the second season in the company's new 33,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Pasadena venue are Shakespeare's CYMBELINE, George Bernard Shaw's THE DOCTOR'S DILEMMA, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL adapted by Geoff Elliott, John Steinbeck's THE GRAPES OF WRATH adapted by Frank Galati, EURYDICE by Sarah Ruhl, and George Farquhar's THE BEAUX' STRATAGEM adapted by Thornton Wilder and Ken Ludwig. The season runs from September 2012 to May 2013.

Continuing in its ongoing efforts of supporting new musical theater works, Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director of Signature Theatre, announced today that the Tony Award®-winning theatre is commissioning two new musicals under Signature's American Musical Voices Project (AMVP): The Next Generation. Composers Joshua Rosenblum (Einstein's Dreams, Fermat's Last Tango) and Josh Schmidt (Adding Machine, A Minister's Wife) will be creating new musicals for future seasons at Signature. In December of 2011, Mr. Rosenblum and Mr. Schmidt were awarded "honoree grants" and shared selections from projects in development at a special performance held at Signature Theatre.

Josh Young, who is starring as 'Judas' in Broadway's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR after originating the role in both the Startford and La Jolla productions of the show, returned to the production on Friday evening, April 13th after successfully battling laryngitis.
