Left Field Productions, Neil Berg, Adam Friedson and MSC OPAS at Texas A&M University welcome veteran Broadway actor Marc Kudisch to direct the world premiere project that will close the 40th Anniversary OPAS Season at Texas A&M University - Neil Berg's The Phantoms of the Opera.

Four renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 34th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors. The 2013 Common Wealth Award winners are: Alan Alda, celebrated actor, director and screenwriter, for Dramatic Arts; David McCullough, preeminent author and historian, for Literature; Jane Pauley, leading broadcast journalist, Today Show contributor and author, for Mass Communications; Martin Sheen, film legend, social activist and humanitarian, for Public Service.

Writers Guild and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Tony Kushner has been chosen to receive the WGAW's 2013 Paul Selvin Award for his adapted screenplay for Lincoln. Named after the late Selvin, who served as counsel to the Guild, the award is given to the WGA member whose script best embodies the spirit of the constitutional and civil rights and liberties, which are indispensable to the survival of free writers everywhere. Kushner will be recognized, along with other honorees, at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 17, at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.

Four-time Emmy Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Valerie Harper returns to Hartford to kick off the National Tour of Matthew Lombardo's madcap comedy LOOPED, tonight, January 24-February 6, 2013 at The Belding Theatre at The Bushnell. Original Broadway cast member Jared Gertner will star as Elder Cunningham in the First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, launching in Denver from August 14-September 2 at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The two-time Grammy Award winner for "Producer of the Year" first rose to international acclaim through the global smash 'World Without Love' as one half of the British Invasion duo Peter & Gordon, Peter moved effortlessly to Music Executive with The Beatles' Apple Records, then famously to producer and manager, handling the careers of James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and a host of others. Among his more recent projects is the upcoming Dreamworks movie Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. In addition to producing the soundtrack, he performs the film's only original song "Love Always Comes As A Surprise," co-written with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, which he will also perform at Feinstein's.
