The Factory Theater has announced its 25th anniversary season of world premieres and its third season at its Rogers Parkhome: Mike Ooi's Captain Steve's Caring Kingdom, October 27 December 9, Carrie J. Sullivan's The Next Big Thing, March 9 April 21, 2018 and Jill Oliver's Lametown and the Adventures of Spirit Force Five, June 29 August 11, 2018.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced today the roster of performing artists scheduled to perform at the celebrated concert series NEO 2017: A Concert Celebration featuring new works by emerging musical theatre writers Masi Asare, Alan Gordon & Joy Son, Alexander Sage Oyen, and Mark Sonnenblick.

Various artists from the worlds of country, rock, blues, bluegrass and gospel are all banding together to aid victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. A few weeks ago, after the landfall of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, country singer John Berry was scheduled for a writing appointment in Nashville with award-winning songwriter Chuck Jones. The two went into the session with no intentions but walked away with the newly-penned song, 'All Come Together.'

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."  

A new theory about the design of the universe is set out to challenge some widely accepted views in physics. Move aside Einstein, Hawking - there's a new kid in town.
